Quote: mwildcats "What a crock of poop...
Been stringed along again.
We haven't got the money
We haven't got the space
We don't even own the bloody ground.
Pay extortionate rent.
What has become evident is that the mere basics of a structurally sound development are floored.
Gonna be another bodge job.
Planning permission for years..
Refused.. appeal.. then where relegated dont need a new stadium.
Nothing

What about this 108 agreement? Or whatever.. aren't the buildings selling quickly enough.

Realistically with P&R there is no quick need to move into the stadium.

This new stadium was going to make us a viable club for the next 100 years..
with all sorts of facilities and income streams.. this means where going to be a penniless club going from one struggle/crisis to another.

Absolute garbage..

Had enough of these ground shambles with Wakefield I'm only 25.. and in my time supporting the club we must have been going to about 7 locations.

NOT HAPPY!

BV is a sentimental home where memories have been shared but in order to move forward as a big club we all believe it can be.. we cannot be at BV. Just cannot be.'"

Well said young man!

Quote: The Avenger "The stadium cost was stated as £19 million and that would have included the laying of a pitch which will not now be needed.

So when YCP announce their plans for Belle Vue I expect it to be amazing for £19 million'"

We won't need that for a dozen sheets of corrugated iron, 4 dozen tins of paint and a year's supply of weedol

All I am going to say for now is that I am as proud today of what we have tried to do as I ever have. BV or NM will all be as a result of the efforts the fans have put in. I have nothing to hide - no conspiracies, no backhanders, nothing, just a lot of time, effort, heartache, worry... oh and the slagging's off from some I know and some I don't know.

No disrespect to TRB, IA and all others involved in the Newmarket fiasco, and certainly none intended toward Snowie and his band of volunteers, but this appears to the rest of the RL world as yet another Wakey smoke and mirror job.

90% of the RL world doesn't believe a word that comes out of Belle Vue thanks to previous owners, this just gives them further ammo to attack us with. We will be a laughing stock (again) and I feel so sorry for Michael Carter and Chris Brereton who have worked wonders this year to keep us afloat.

Redeveloping Belle Vue will be subject to planning permission, no doubt local residents will object, plans will be called in again and it will be years before or if it ever happens.
I bet the Nutjob Forum has gone into meltdown and extra boxes of tissues have been ordered in by Aldi and Lidll.

Without seeing the plans it's hard to know what to think, but a good development of BV would be better than a new stadium in the middle of nowhere.

Looking fwd to seeing the plans

I don't know anyone who's slagging you off or suggesting backhanders or aiming any criticisms at you whatsoever, people know what you've done and continue to try to achieve.

It would be a mistake to diminish fans feelings about the pantomime that Wakefields search for a new stadium has become over the last 25 years or so. Speaking for myself, it's not about you or IA or any other well meaning individual who's hearts in the right place and keeps going on good faith. The situation has been exacerbating to the extreme and now it's all going ninnies up again.

Forgive me for not knowing who you are or exactly what your involvement in WTRLFC and the council/ planning/ Newmarket affair is. I am aware you have some kind of involvement in what has been gpoing on I think. I don't partake in every postathlon that has occured on Newmarket over the years, partly because I never believed it would happen, a feeling that has it seems, proved to be depressingly correct.
All I will say is that the organisation that ought to have kept us up to date with what was going on, every little thing it was in a position to, with regular updates, should have been Wakefield Trinity. Even if it was just to say, no change, still here, still at it, next update such and such a date. Newmarket disappears off the club PR for months at a time. We get occasional news stories, lots of speculation on here, hints from those apparently in the know like yourself and then this. For those in the Wakefield area who are not 'in the know' and those who live at distance like me, all of this is frustrating and frankly at times, aggravating. I am not having a personal go at you. The club has again let its fans down by a total lack of communication and transparency. I would add the lack of political will to make this happen has been glaringly obvious from the word go. More balls have been hit into long grass than a village cricket match. More obstacles and stalling tactics have clearly been employed than a tough mudder challenge.
I would love to have even a grain of faith that Belle Vue will get 3 gleaming new stands and we all live happily ever after but I suspect the 2nd coming of Christ is more likely. Or Wally Lewis

The article states we will be happy with the new plans and it will fully redeveloped Belle Vue if done right this would be the preferred option for most Trin fans.

Well what a surprise. Once again we have our pants pulled down. I'd wager a decent amount Belle Vue will look no better in five years than it does now. They must think we were born yesterday.

I know some will be happy at the thought of staying at Belle Vue and others disappointed at not going to Newmarket.

Some of us have been campaigning for a new stadium for quite a long time and have given up their time in an effort to make it happen.

I have not put as much time in as some like TRB and IA but I have spent many hours of my time on the project and gave evidence at the Public Inquiry and to be honest I'm totally peed off with the decision to remain at Belle Vue when we believed and were told that Newmarket would happen.

I'm sure more will come out in the next few weeks but we are where we are and we now have to see how Belle Vue is going to be redeveloped but don't lose sight of the fact that if it had not been for all the time and effort put in by the likes of TRB and IA we would not even be talking about redeveloping Belle Vue, we would have absolutely nothing.

I know many of us are brassed off and disappointed with this news, and I know no one has yet, but FFS don't turn on or blame the guys who have given their all to bring about a new stadium at Newmarket, they are as hacked off as some of you.

Am I missing something or could Yorkcourt just total sever all ties with the club? and not build the stadium and not help in the development of BV?
