| Exemption on non feds doesn't bother me so, exemption from relegation does. Either have relegation or don't. It gets messy when exemptions are introduced. Apparently the RFL rightly wouldn't guarantee Trinity a license when Parkin asked the question a few years back. It should be no different now.

| The exemption from relegation cannot happen IMO. If the RFL agree to this at least one club form the heartlands will suffer. London are trying to dangle a carrot to the RFL promising new investment from the top man at Barnet. If the RFL fall for this stunt we (Tigers and Wakey) might as well step out of the elite competition now.

| To be frank this is the biggest load of B.S. going...I remember watching boots and all months ago and the RFL stated on there that the changes would be firmed up before the end of the season; Well thats gone and pre season is about to start!!!
I think all the clubs should make a stance, insisting changes to the structure of the league should be made for 2015; giving all involved some notice.
Why is there a constant lack of planning/organisation with both clubs and the RFL...I think some should go back to the community clubs (for ideas) as they are far better organised!!

| I totally agree with Slugger - rugby league administrators are lifelong committee men with good intentions, but very little know-how; they are inward looking, parochial and cripplingly old-school. Without a change at the top, the sport in the UK is doomed to limp along as a minority interest in the M1-M62 corridor, and to be an object of derision or at best, disinterest, everywhere else.
Personally, I'd go back to basics; break down the existing paradigm and start from a basis of what's good for the game as a whole, and its consumers; if that means that clubs have to be forced to do some things they don't want to, tough titties.
For example, I too would increase the size of the SL to 16 teams and I'd make it a requirement that the U19's are reinstated with effect from the 2015 season. I would also increase the cap to catch up with inflation (at least) and at the same time, make one marquee player exempt, together with generous allowances for club trained youngsters. I'd also introduce a stricter overseas quota and place an upper limit on the number of games a player can participate in during one season, to force coaches to dip into their squad and give young players an opportunity.
And that's just for starters!

And our club wouldn't be in the mess it's in if we'd had someone like him in charge rather than under qualified chancers like we've had. Still, I bet GH doesn't do the pally pally stuff with supporters some of ours in his position have.

| Whatever happens it seems we have some deep rifts in game.
They need sorting out and not papering over.
This game is in need of forward thinking leaders and the removal of the cosy little gang that is feathering its own bed.

This is pretty much what I'd like to see.

| It sounds like the RFL tried the oldest trick in the committee mans book at their most recent meeting, by tabling a vote on the new structure when several of the clubs who could vote against it were missing; that prompted the walkout that has resulted in Mr Hetherington's outburst in the media.
Given that they'd previously announced that the vote would be postponed until after the RLWC, I'm not surprised that several Chairmen took the drastic measure they did to derail that particular act of desperation.
The RFL board in its current form has lost all credibility - its time for Big Nige and his fellow passengers aboard the Red Hall gravy train to get off at the next stop.

Nowt to do with them who we employ and last time I looked 2 out of 14 votes hardly constituted a power base!
As for the financial help if it is in the form of a repayable loan what's the problem? It's not like the rfl haven't stepped in with bigger financial assistance to other clubs in the recent past.

Looks like it's all our fault! Good job they didn't help Bradford out too.

| It does seem a bit petty when you look at how the Bulls have been helped. I think its more of a case of not wanting Gary Hetherington running the game.

| " Hull FC not happy with the RFL helping Wakefield", thats rich coming from a club who was about to be relegated when the RFL stepped in and allowed them to merge with Gateshead and retain superleague status and money.
Short memories or what.
