| Quote: TRB "Vasty - it's not the result, or the margin, that was upsetting - rather the complete lack of any semblance of organised rugby - defence or offence.
Cas are not as strong as us, but they are very good movers of the ball and will have a field day out wide with that defence - it was awful.
We have problems - some of our making and some not - but the fomula doesn't look right at this time.'"
These games are nothing to do with sliding defences and everything to do with who wants it. Cas could easily win it but that won't make them as good a team as Warrington or Hudds in the same way that both of us beating Leeds doesn't make us champions.

| Quote: vastman "No it doesn't actually. I fully accept that we were as bad as you say. The point is what else do you expect. If you don't think that after the loss of Brough and for me Newton we are not going to be an up and down side you're in for a long season. We are an outside bet who with a bit of luck could trouble the tables, but we will put in some shockers this year. That said the shocker against Hudds was not one we could take for many reasons, this one I won't lose a minutes sleep over.'"
Fair enough - and we'll get back on the horse at some point (and so will I), but it genuinely was an awful preformance - across the park - and you would feel more strongly about it if you'd been (although I appreciate that you have less of an 'emotional' tendency than I do - for better or worse).
I stood with a group of 'grumpy old men' last night and there wasn't a lot good to say. I also stood with my missus, who was so tired out she could barely stand for the whole game - and for what? It certainly bore no resemblance to entertainment!

| Its quite interesting that posters on here who didn't go to the game seem to know more about the game than those who went and didn't find the performance "shocking" as some of us who went. I think I know whose opinions on Friday's game are worth listening to.
Also it was me who said that Cas would beat us next Friday if we did not fix the problem we have with the sliding defence and our right hand side. I stand by that comment but we could all stick our heads up our backsides and pretend that we don't have any problems and see what happens.
This is a Forum where we can have our own opinions. You do not have to agree with those opinions as I often don't with other posters but I respect their right to express those opinions.
There are some on here who seem to think they know more than others on here. Maybe they do but we don't need them ramming it down everyone throats all the time - thats just plain arrogant.

Your a Trinity fan you should be used to that by now - I think the relative success of the JK years have given us unrealistic expectations at time. Since when was a trip to an in form Wire ever likely to be enjoyable - think of it this way, we have done it to them enough times so fairs fair

Fair comment - but I did not go expecting a result - I went expecting some kind of SL standard performance - and did not get it. It really was THAT bad!
If we're honest about these things, look at who's getting the MOM votes. That player is debated often on here, and he deserves all the credit for taking the game to Wire, but if ANY of the other players had played well and stood out then he wouldn't be there, would he? If he's your best player, that means the rest of them are poorer, and that does not make a SL standard performance I'm afraid.

Hold on a second, who's being arrogant here me or you.
No one certainly not me has denied that we were as bad as some posters suggest. What I was pointing out is that perhaps we need to accept all things considered we will have these blips without thinking it's the end of the world.
As for the Cas bit, it's another game. This team beat Leeds, it got slaughtered by Hudds. Cas are neither of these, they would have to improve 1000% in my opinion to do to us what Warrington clearly did. Maybe it's me I just don't get the connection.
Anyway if it suits I will no longer comment on games I didn't attend, or question the opinions of those who are clearly beyond reproach if that's what it takes to keep the peace.

| I know for a fact that over the past couple of weeks JK has put in enough hours in diplomacy and negotiations to solve the Middle East peace process. Getting Cooke in to the club and sorting out Brough to Huddersfield has been a very difficult process.
I said to a friend of mine that we looked like a team of 17 players put together without a coach. Maybe all the other matters have taken the focus away from the everyday things that need to be done. I am just hoping we can now focus on a better TEAM performace next week and sorting out the obvious weaknesess that many of our players displayed last night.
Last but not least, if you weren't there please try and accept the comments from those at the game. They summed it up spot on in my opinion.

| Having not missed a game home or away this year i cant help but feel a bit more qualified than some on here, and truly it was a garbage performance compared to every game apart from huddersfield.
Once again our right side defence was like a revolving gate, sam obst kicking game was lamentable
we did give plenty of effort and there were some good performances but we were awful

i hear what you are saying and although me no go on friday i did go the the hudds game and the hunslet pre season and still did not really bat an eyelid, i respect your opinion and the fact that along with a couple of others you dont tend to knee jerk but for gawds sake no brough no bj struggling for experienced props 3 new players to gel in to the team .
My opinion is that i disagree with yours on this occasion be pretty weird if we always agreed about all in fact it would be like that little cult over at Huddersfield. just because i might not of gone doesn't stop me having opinions either .
warrington like huddersfield are a class act this term and we perhaps had to play ugly rugby for damage limitation. im sure against the giners we will do fine

| Couldnt get there last night, so feel in no way could i comment on that game, but 6th isnt bad considering the negative start we have had, ok we havnt beaten any team currently in the top 5, but we have lost both starting half backs, a hooker, and two pack members from what would have probably been the first choice 17 at the start of the season, so as others have said we are facing a pre season 2, and thats not the time to come accross warrington in form.
in the current situation cas wil be a tough call, and wigan a bloody miracle, asnd the rest of the season it up for grabs and could revolve around cooke settling and BJ's form on his return.
One thing I do know is that bickering amongst ourselves about something we have little or no influence on wont help.

Maybe its me who is a bit sensitive but its seems to me that some of your comments seem to be along the lines that you know better than others - maybe you do but maybe you dont.
You can please yourself whether you comment on games you don't attend, thats up to you its a forum after all and I have no problem with you questioning opinions but I just think at times you dont question those opinions in a constructive manner.
I don't want to get int a slanging match with you on here. I don't know you as far as I am aware and I'm sure that if we met we would get on as we have at least one thing in common. I'll have to ask TRB or Prince Buster to intoduce us and we can speak face to face, maybe over a pint.

Who is this person not accepting the comments on the game. All that's being suggested is that perhaps there has been a slight over reaction to what in my opinion at least was a very likely outcome to that particular game.
Just a thought, have you ever watched a game live on a cold miserable night only to watch it on SKY and see a completely different one. Sometimes being at the match doesn't mean you saw it all and I don't mean that in a patronising way it's just the way it is.
Surely a little perspective helps, even though I'm bl**dy glad I didn't go .
