Fat Faced 'Fan' has dissappointed me the most this season. Looks pretty negative and lazy

quite an odd post. are you suggesting that somebody cannot be a fan becasue they are dissapointed with a couple of the signings? i've been a fan of this great club since before i could walk, and i will be until i die. no team is perfect, no organisation is perfect but to deny the right to criticise is like sticking one's head in the sand. we're in a better state squad wise than we have been for a number of years, agar needs to get the best out of his team. we've been in winnable games against hkr, and bradford in recent weeks and contrived to lose them; that's dissapointing no matter how low our collective aspirations were at the start of the season.

perhaps you could change your user name to "happy clapper till death".

no player has been a scapegoat on this thread, those that have contributed have put their reasons/justifications.

I didn't want to contribute because I thought the thread was heading for a negative bitch about players.
If we are simply saying who has not shown up as I expected it is hard to say as I had no expectation of some as I didn't even know

BUT, Mellars is probably the one I would single out. He needs to protect his winger better on the kicks
and John needs to improve kicking and I'd like him to attack the line more.

I have seen a lot more attractive rugby so far and believe we will get much better. I backed £50 to finish in top eight, I will however be pleased if we compete and finish outside the eight.Judge this season at the end of the campaign.

Too early to to bag any players yet. And anyway none have been particularly bad, yes we could possibly do with a little more from one or two but that will come in time.

But if we have to pick someone then, since we signed him, and are paying him, to play for Halifax, i'll go Matt James.

harsh if you're referring to his goal kicks as he's the non-kicking kicker in the frame at the moment. not entirely his fault that he's the best of a bunch of non kickers. if you're talking about his kicks in general play, i would question whether we're providing him with the right platform in terms of momemtum and hence creating the space for any of our kicking options to kick to their full potential. i think john has shown some decent glimpses, but again i would like more.

I can't win! First I try and be positive and am criticised for not following the thread theme. Then when I decide to pick some one even though I am not particularly unhappy with anyone, I'm too harsh.
Oh well.......I too fancy us for the win. Not sure why but I know a big win is coming soon. Can feel it in mi bones!

i have to agree, but i wasn't expecting much from smith to be fair. his troubles and his troubled career are well documented so my expectations have not been high. he does have genuine class, so i expect him to dominate and win us 3-5 games as the season goes on.

If we're saying the half backs haven't had long enough to gel as yet (as some do say) then such as Mellars hasn't had long enough to show his worth either.
In fact, let's face it, in attack only a few are really showing promise and that is reflected in the points we have scored so far. on the other hand our defence is generally pretty good. So, more time needed for everybody I think.
Doesn't really matter too much about results (apart from pride-and of course I do want a winning team!) by that I mean there's no P and R to worry about- so, need to concentrate on getting it right long term-no quick fixes available!
