The nonsense part is that he was supposed to start in 2024 but all of a sudden Fev suddenly had the capacity to bring him in early, and that despite Trinity knowing, didn't have any time to prepare for his leaving.

The club is a mess and a coach jumping ship with immediate effect is a symptom of the mess.

Other than Fev somehow managed to instantly find the money to appoint him immediately instead of in 2024 as had been initially planned and agreed....

Which seems more plausible:
a coach tells the current club that he is leaving with immediate effect to take up a new post in a club which has funded it leaving the existing club without a plan to replace him

Or the coach tells his current club that he is leaving at the end of the season and they instead dismiss him immediately, and then wait 24 hours before announcing that he had gone but that they hadn't got a plan to replace him, and that somehow the club he was going to also managed to fund his new post immediately and also announce it.

I know you like to look at everything through your rose tinted glasses, but objectively, Trinity have been caught out by something and then flailed around for a day before trying to pretend it was all their doing in the first place.

If you read yesterday's announcement from Featherstone it is clear that they had a vision of him coming into them this season as it talks a lot about him supporting them in their drive for promotion

Fev will be taking a leaf out of Leigh’s book here, albeit a little late in the day - Ford will be on a recruitment drive to get players in place for SL next season, more players may or may not come in this season but they see themselves as pretty much certs to go up, and like Chester at Leigh Ford will now have the scope to do that and leave Long to concentrate on the coaching

MC only wrote this because the bloke on RWAB called him out on it. The first line is a classic MC dig (suggesting that things were behind his back); using the word "naturally" to condition the giving of praise and thanks is condescending, and the trailing comment about further announcements just says that they aren't doing anything about it.

PT flame me as you see fit, but this is how I see it. MC is peed off because he was called out on it, and clearly there is some frost between Ford and the Club. How dare he get another job and not tell them. Even though he doesn't have a contract at Trin for 2024.

Am i missing something here? Fordy was out of contract at the end of the year and has moved to secure his future and gain a promotion at the same time. No problem there. He was willing to see out his contract and move at the end of the season. Featherstone would have liked him to start straight away but were willing to wait. Wakey have said ok you can go now then and we’ll move on. Job done, move on.

As far as I know, you are not even close on any of that. But it doesn't change the facts either way.

Personally, in any business. If someone gets another job with a rival (at leat an IMG rival) you are better letting them go than keeping them while they have eyes elsewhere.
