WTW gone as we know it.
No permanent ground after this year.
How long can we stay at Oakwell?
How much will it cost us to stay at Oakwell?
Can we afford it?
Will we lose supporters as a whole imo yes....
Our only assets after 2011 is players and there worth bugger all..
I've had 15yrs of supporting trin.. seen us been promoted get in play offs and semi-final of cc. Not a bad run... but hey gutted gutted gutted.'"

Not sure what the future holds now. We'll just have to wait and see what the club say.

| Sold already announced this will be our last year; cant see how they can go back on it, either way we cant really stay there as its apparently not good enough for a SL ground.
Crap Players.
No new ground.
Old ground not good enough.
Licence very much doubtful.
NL rugby... with low crowds and high rent costs with little or no income due to low crowds, food & drink at stadium mostly going barnsley. Will we have to revert to part time club..
I understand im explaining the very worst here, but you've got to imagine that and anything better / different is a bonus.

If it was to be delayed, we’re definitely doomed.
The B.O.D has now got three / four months to get on with Plan B.
No distractions with two proposals.
I’m still not sure if Barnsley is the plan B, but if so, whilst not an expansion area, it’s certainly pretty un-tapped.

Roughly 75% of all PI's go the way of the applicant and given the legal direction on the draft LDF (for 95 ha of B8 land on the M62 corridor) and the proposal to change the Newmarket site to a B8 employment zone, which I am fairly certain will continue under the detailed LDF consultation, and I don't think is held up due to the PI, that is why.
The worry for the NIMBY's is that the still end up with a B8 site, which is very, very likely, albeit possibly a little smaller in overall area and Wakefield and the community gets no benefit whatsoever!
Also, PI's are great at showing people's selfish NIMBY attitudes towards developments (of any kind) and the objectors very rarely make a good case and mostly make things worst for themselves by doing the usual, we don't want this here mate, build it over there instead, attitude!

| We have had some strife over the years but I would rate this as the most sickening blow of all.
By looking at this from even the most optimistic perspective, this announcement is soul destroying. The simple truth is come the next round of SL licences we are even more in the dark now than we were 2 months ago. We can't present a credible case regarding stadia, as there is no certainty in anything related to Newmarket, and won't be for some time, and with the licenses being awarded early next year, from even the most ardent of supporters, our chances look dead in the water.
All the positivity surrounding the club has just ended. We are Wakefield together we are stronger. Looks quite hollow now doesn't it?
This is a tragedy.

Pretty much how i see it.
Some will try to put a positive spin on relocating to Barnsley -- i dont think it will matter. The PI delay will scupper our chances of a license in 2012 and the club will fold.
It will be the end of pro sport in the city of Wakefield.

| Gutted beyond belief. The RFL now have the excuse they need to kick us out of superleague. Without superleague money we ain't got a chance of servicing the debt we have. Hell we can't manage with it. Game over.

We all know the weakest applications will be from Quins and Wrexham but that means nothing, it is still a straight fight between us and Cas i believe.

| Seems like everything we can do has been done, for now, all depends upon whatever may happens at Castleford , since Salford are up and running.
As for the move to Barnsley, well it depends how many of our old supports bother turning up, how well we promote ourselves in South Yorkshire, and which league we are playing in.
One of the few things which we now know for certain is that the club needs our support more then ever, if it is going to have a fighting chance. Fans need to buy the shirts and attend the games.

| Very disappointing news for you guys.
I would like to ask a question, I am not trolling nor trying to rub salt in the wound, however, does this news alter your views on a ground-share at Glasshoughton?
If the council put all the promised into one stadium and the clubs worked together there is no doubt the ground could be up by 2012.
Surely SL in Glasshoughton is better than NL at Oakwell?

| Championship rugby is not an option for me. I do not intend to contribute to the club like I do in order that all our time money and effort makes us a feeder club for Leeds and probably Castleford. If this costs us a franchise so be it because at the end of the day that is what the RFL has wanted all along.

Personally I would prefer to see the club play at Oakwell as, however remote, there would still be a chance to attract support from that area to make up for the drop in the attendances moving out of town would bring. A move to Glasshoughten would see the club lose the support with no chance of attracting new fans. All in my opinion of course.

| I still do not see this 'untapped' potential in Barnsley. It's football first, cricket second and everything else is irrelevant. Unless 'Barnsley' is in the name, why would the most parochial people on earth watch Wakefield?
I remember an article in a programme from 15-20 years ago where a club director wrote how Belle Vue needed massive improvements or a whole new ground built. We knew then, we know now. You can guess which director that was.
All in all, you can never trust the Tories. I'll stop myself going further with what I'd do to his next curry!

Me neither. Looks like 2011 will be my last season unless by some miracle we get a franchise for 2012.
I'll find something else, probably less painful, to spend my time and hard earned money on.

As I see it the problem with the ground share is the fact that the RFL blatantly want just one team in this area. Therefore who owned the shared stadium would be the decider on who survived. If we shared at Glasshoughton it would just give Cas the funding they need in order to turn their dreams into reality.
The RFL make up the rules as they go along so Crusaders and others aren't included in any franchise decision. It's a straight fight between us and Cas and even if we did have stadiums it would still be the same.

The RFL will not allow 2 SL clubs to play out of one stadium so Glasshoughton is a non starter.
Looks like the end of the road for us but best of luck to Castleford in securing the funding for Glasshoughton or there will be no SL in Wakefield, which I think is what the RFL wants.

Right I've stopped being depressed and feel the need to get on and do something positive.
So i've emailed the Wakefield conservative party at,
mcrowther@wakefield.gov.uk
imploring them to use whatever means they have at their disposal at local and natonal level, to question the SoS decision and locally to come out in public support of the development.
Time will tell, can't harm!!

Can't reverse the decision.
For what its worth I think the outcome of the PI will be positive but with the franchise application date looming it will be too late and as we will not have a guarantee of a new stadium we will lose out and be told to apply in 2015.

| All this really does justify the lack of spend in preparation for the coming season. Our new NRL prop might as well stay where he is too. Why throw money at something that ultimately won't make any difference?

| Unless we get a Super League licence I just cannot see how we could play at Oakwell as how will we be able to afford to pay the rent.If we are in NL1 I am afraid that we would probably only get 1,000 to 1500 people if we are lucky. Many people will just think that if we are not in super league they would just not be prepared to pay good money and will walk away from the game,me include and I have watched Trinity since 1948.
