you don't know what is happening with regard to current players, neither do I. You don't know who is leaving, coming in (with the exception of Gaskell), so why not give it a rest and wait until you know the 'full' picture.

| Kay went well at 9 trouble was K Wood spent more time at 9 and to me did not do a lot All the trys were scored when Kay was on the field ,because Kay was busy and keeped the ball moving Some fans are saying he went ok because Huddersfield were down to 12 men. After Kay went of we started the one man rugby witch we have been playing for the last few year With less than 15 mins left Kay came back on and the ball started to move a bit .Kay did a few dummy runs in is last stint ,.He is by far the best option we have got at 9 .and should be playing a lot more minutes .but will not because of the coaches attitude if it's not working why fix it

He wouldn’t accept it if they did as I understand it.
He’d love to be released.

Don’t blame him. For the sake of his career he should probably look elsewhere.

Its just ludicrous, from what I hear he is far from happy about "Finding his best position" at prop, I feel really sorry for the lad as everyone else can see he is a top second rower in the making.

This should be ringing the alarm bells more than ever ….. always thought of as a future leader as well as being a top class player ! God what a depressing mess this all is …..

| As much as I think Ashurst has been a very good player for the club surely the priority should have been to sign Batchelor unless he had made it clear that he doesn’t want to stay, which I wouldn’t blame him if that’s how he felt.

This I fear is indicative of the state of the club, if indeed accurate.
I really do struggle for words when young talent is not nurtured and retained, by choice, because if that is a representation of the mid to long term team strategy being taken by the Coach and accepted by the board, my sympathy to the CEO bemoaning social media and demanding better support will continue to drift.
The Coach publicly lambasting players is no different than bullying, and is simply not leadership. Sure, give them the hairdryer in the dressing room but to publicly shame them, wow. The coach did it last year, there was a massive reaction and then the Coach moaned he was getting bullied online. I can't spake. What did they expect?
I think a few of us on here come back to "what would Fergie" do? There's some truth in that.

| How on earth have we let this club get into this sorry state whereby the coach, who should have been changed probably two years ago, is still in position, while everything is crumbling around him.I wouldn't expect Chester to resign without his contract being paid in full because Chris has to look after himself and his family,so the onus is on Michael Carter. We will probably be safe this season, so I half expected Chester being allowed to see out his contract, but I am astounded that he has seemingly been offered another long contract, and has perhaps even signed it.Certainly Chester is picking new recruits for next season, so that seems to corroborate the new contract stories.Personally I don't really care how good the new recruits are because after a while they will be coached down to our level and quickly go backwards.
I couldn't talk about coaching without mentioning Cas.15-0,say's it all really!
I was taken aback on one of the monthly talk-ins with Carter and John Minards when John laughed at a suggestion that we might beat Saints,as if to suggest that supporters should accept that we are a 10 or 11 place team and its absurd to expect a win against the top side.Sorry, but after supporting for over 50 years I still expect MY team to be able to beat anybody, and if that dream goes that's when I call it a day.
Would also say that I've respect for the BOD and MC in particular, and think without them we may not have had a club, but IMO their lack of rugby league nous is certainly showing.(perhaps it's time to bring back Kath Hetherington, only joking)
Regards team matters, like lots more posters I can see how Tanginoa and Battye have deteriorated under our regime and they are hardly the first.A mention about Batchelor; he is not the finished article by any means, but I think there is a top player in there somewhere when he gets with a good coach. If he leaves the club, after giving Ashurst and Crowther 2 year deals, then we've totally lost the plot.
Regards fitness,we seem to have a reasonable standard of fitness to be fair, but we don't have the sharpness that other teams have. How long has our fitness coach been with us,10 years? Is there someone better out there with more up to date techniques?
I have rambled on too long and everything I have put is just my opinion of course, but that's how I see it.
I am going to see the season out, but if Chester is still coach next season I won't be back till there is a change.
