It's the centre position we need to cover, though, so why Cowling hasn't been called up into the squad I don't know. Goulding for me would be at best a bit of an Isaac John, and leave Smith looking after the young'un rather than being allowed to do what he does best. All based on limited observations, though, so I'll bow to the experts on this one.

Both Kay & Cowling have been playing excellent rugby for the Don's this year. Kay had a good game at SO the other day in Cookes absence. Would be good to see a bit more of either tbh.

It's not a complaint so much as a wondering why. If Goulding plays, and plays a blinder, I'll be more than happy. Just can't see why this would be the case, given he only made the bench for Dewsbury, unless Glen was asked to hold him back?

I'm not complaining, I just know how they've been playing this year and thought I'd pass it on and like I said before it would be good to see them get a game to judge them. You also mentioned Kay yourself.

Im not specifically aiming it at anyone and yes I did mention Kay as a good player however hes not the squad therefor wont be playing. Goulding isnt in the squad for a laugh - never seen him play personally, I hope he plays well though.

A young lad was thrown in at the deep end last year he was fantastic against st Helens his tackle created the drop goal we won from. You are very quick to jump the gun, you probably weren't at the games! He has showed more promise than Lynn in the first team that's for sure.

I agree Kay has been the better showing of the two on dual reg reading the reports and watching sons highlights. But, he isn't in the squad so in just working around the 19 man squad mate that's all.

Who ever dons the shirt need to give their all and try and take Leeds down. This is a good opportunity to take them. They will be favourites but our forwards look to be the stronger set. Just need to come up with the goods on Friday again.

The bookies are giving us 14 points start on the coupon which looks like a decent bet (I hope).

Although I dop think our forwards are stronger, I'm not sure they are so much stronger that they will protect the backs from the power and speed Leeds have in the backline.
We need to be able to stop Burrow distributing and put some pressure on Sutcliffe.

I'd play Washbrook at 6 for this, but that's mainly based on not knowing how good Goulding is.
But if he was good enough to play a dominent role against Leeds, he's have been playing already.

I hope we are saving Tautai and Collis for the home game.

If Goulding cant get a regular starting spot at Dewsbury, surely we will be sticking with Wilde at 6 and he is named in the squad a a "smokescreen".

id have an extra forward at 6 , washbrook and mathers can help out tim smith whilst still playing there natural positions and then we would be even more dominant in the middle of the park which is where this game will be won

Wildie is not a natural 6, whats the point in bringing Goulding in not to play him. Let the lad play! Personally don't think we've much of a chance with this squad selection anyway so why not have a look at a younger player!

I think our forwards need to absolutely smash their pack, because we look very patched up in the backs.

I reckon it could be similar to last year at their place where we dominated the game but could not handle the pace of their back line.

I fear the worst. I agree with previous posters that despite being a natural half (goulding) back you must still produce the goods at half back at Championship level before the crack at Super League which he hasn't.

Looks like Lynne will play at centre with Lee Smith which may get exploited although I understand that we're probably concerned about the Pace of their three quarters and we may suffer even more if Mariano was there?



Who knows what will happen at 6 but I'd rather go with Washbrook for his previous experience at Hull playing 6 and the fact that he is very strong defensively. A steady head with T.Smith?

We'll have a strong pack but I fear the worst and think Mariano and Wildie with their utility value need to start on the bench with Wilkes and Raleigh in case things don't work out with Washbrook or Lynne.

I'm not sure who said he wasn't playing for Dewsbury but he's been playing pretty much every game for the Ram's since he moved from Donny. He's had 3 MOTM performances as well.

He started off the bench last game but before that he's started a number of games, 13 I think. Funnily enough Kieran Hyde has been partnering him.

Vasty said he hadn't been starting.
