Doesn't matter really does it? You get assistants that will always be assistants yet a good proportion of them will go on to be successful head coaches at some point. The Aussies have some quality coaches, most of which are promoted to head coach from that assistant position, that is just a natural progression, unlike our game they tend to show some faith in the qualities they possess and really give them a chance, similar with the playing pool to be honest. Like I say we could do worse than go for an assistance that is deemed ready to take that jump (I think there are a few) or potentially even go for someone like James Ford, anyone who has watched York in his tenure know that he knows his rugby, his recruitment is consistently good and he has them well drilled with the right attitude all elements which are severely lacking at this club.

| Ford already seems to be building his team for next year so can’t see him leaving them any time soon.

Ford also as a fantastic well paid job at York uni so to leave and go full time with us would be a big risk

To be fair I wouldn't want Poching to take the head coach role and ruin his playing reputation.

| Quote Sacred Cow="Sacred Cow"There seems to now be a general consensus of opinion amongst fans that a change of coach, along probably with the conditioning staff, is required. This will obviously cost money. But any new coach is going to have their hands tied regarding recruitment in a way that Chester has not had to deal with in recent times. CC stated in his pre-match press conference that the budget available will be equal to that of 3 or 4 years ago. Depending in our finishing position and the prize money allocation linked to it, plus the outcome of the Toronto saga it may even be less than that. Especially when you throw in the rising covid issue could hit this year again. So how do we regenerate the squad with the fresh blood it desperately needs? There are very few remaining players that are off contract and we can’t afford to pay any under contract off. We know...
Leaving - Brough, Kirmond, Atkins, King.
Out of Contract - Jones-Bishop, Kopczak, Gwaze.
On a season Loan - Navarette, Tangata, Battye.
So which way do we go? Do the OCC guys deserve new deals? Do we want to sign up the on loan players? Do we have to raise funds and free budget up buy selling 2 or 3 of the crown jewels? How would you juggle it?'"
Some names to throw in the mix. The obvious ones are:
Battye
Tangata
Navarette
Senior
And a few more likely to available:
Ben Flower
James Cunningham
Stevie Ward
Liam Sutcliffe
Darcy Lussick
Anthony Mullally
Dec Patton

Mullally put in a decent stint for us before. Also, if TW doesn't get allowed back in,would others become free agents. Didnt Brad Singleton go there

No one in the bottom list would add anything to our team.
