Unfortunately Hall, Inglis, Hayne and Vatuvei were otherwise engaged.

Tautai wont be playing anywhere near the wing, he's played prop in most of the pre season games and although the guy is quick for a forward, the Salford backs would love to play opposite him with ball in hand.(maybe not with him coming the other way though)'"
Jeeze how difficult is thus?
I am not predicting what I think WILL happen... I am hypothesizing what I would do... Given the freedom to chose... Having a free thought moment... Lightheartedly!
I know Agar will play taulima as a prop but Fwiw I think Tautai is a half decent winger... And a complete no hope prop forward.

Way better than some I have seen pull on a trinity shirt... And worse than others.
I have to say I think Nobel as a manager Is prize worthy

| Their team will be something like this:
1. Jake Mullaney
2. Danny Williams
3. Martin Gleeson
4. Junior Sa'u
5. Francis Meli
6. Rangi Chase
7. Tim Smith
8. Shannon McPherson
9. Tommy Lee
10. Lama Tasi
11. Gareth Hock
12. Tony Puletua
13. Harrison Hanson
14. Theo Fages
15. Adrian Morley
16. Steve Rapira
17. Darrell Griffin
There are a few I don't know but they are certainly big.
Saying that Fox has played against Meli before. It's not like it's an impossible task.
Collis is more than capable in attack and defense against them.
Depends who is on th other side but lets see if Lyne really has bulked up.
The pack is big but I think we can turn them with quick play.
There will be a lot on McShane and Godinet shoulders to get the ball out wide quickly.
We don't have the Smith miracle pass any more so speed and accuracy of pass to get Kirmond and Collis on one on one with opposition is the way forward to me.
We have to be up for this like we were against Widnes a few years ago, with a big vociferous away crowd and players who are just bursting to show what they can do.

| I hope they play Greg Johnson on the wing and we pepper him with high balls like they will no doubt try to do to our wingers.
Seem to remember that being his weak point when he played for us.

Chillax man, sorry for disagreeing with your hypothesis but, even Kirmo was like a duck out of water when he last played in the three quarters and IMO Tautai would be no different.
Everyone's entitled to an opinion, it just seems that ours is different.
Anyway, will you get any coverage of the game from over there or will you be keeping tabs via RLFans ?

You have a point. Collis apart (if fit) that looks a weak threequarter line, the wingers will be targeted all game. And for me Lyne can put on as many kilos as he wants, its the top few inches in which he is lacking.

If there's no et up in the weather, which is rain all week and a bit brighter on Sunday ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif) , the ball will be kept amongst the forwards which will hopefully prevent their backs cutting loose and it could make for a tight, low scoring game.
I bet the new signings are loving the English climate.

| According to independant match reports Greg Johnson has been brilliant in the pre season games. I think he will be one of the best signings Salford have made. He looked very good when at Hudds and Wakefield, was excellent at Batley and will, I think be a SL star.

I just dont get the sarcasm in your post when it comes to your point against Collis.
He was a nightmare for every team he played against last year in attack, In some games he was the only player that looked dangerous - Classiest centre ive seen in a Wakefield shirt for a long time.

I don't think you're too far off, but for me Greg Johnson will be starting he's been outstanding in the trial games, I also think Walton has a chance of starting before Gleeson as he was again outstanding against Warrington. Don't think Theo will be on the bench we've been using Howarth as our interchange so far, I also don't think Steve Rapira is fit. I think the team will look more like:
1. Mullaney
2. Johnson
3. Gleeson (although I'd personally like to see Walton given another crack)
4. Sa'u
5. Meli
6. Chase

I can't see it being the easy ride that some of our fans seem to think! The sensible ones who have watched Salford long enough know nothings ever easy where Salford are concerned!

| I'm liking how over confident some of the Salford fans are, less pressure on us and we always thrive on being the underdogs.
Would love to rain on Cockrashes parade, like we did when they put us on Sky against them after they'd just moved into their new ground ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

| Originally I thought it best that Godinet, Ryan & Anderson should miss out as they'd be off the pace and it'd be too soon a ask for them to fit into the structures etc. Now, I'm thinking we should just play them, get their fitness up and accept the game may have come around too soon for us and what will be will be.
With Noble, you know Salford will be well organised, big across the park and their attack will be strong especially when moving the ball from right to left quickly through the hands to look at scoring in the left hand corner
I'd go;
Mathers
Fox
Collis
Lyne
Briscoe
Sykes
Godinet
Moore
McShane
Smith
Kirmond
Ryan
Washbrook
Anderson
Tautai
Wildie
Lautiti

| Is there a reason why people are selecting Lyne in the centres and Briscoe on the wing? I would have thought they would play the other way around.

Chill axed...
Tautai joined Cronulla as a winger then I watched him play for two seasons at nulla as a winger...then he went back to parra where Stewart began to convert him into an impact forward.... With no success!
For me he is a winger... End of!
Salford game will be about 2 am on Monday morning for me... But I will probably wake up and check the iPad from time to time.
