What I don't want to hear and keep hearing is how good TJ is,you can only be a good player if you actually play and are on the field.

TJ has scored 78 trys in 97 appearances. You are correct though that his scoring rate isn't anywhere near that when he's not on the pitch

| New here, but trinity fan for sadly as long as I can remember.
Chester has been with us since 2016, and without Kear since 2018. I am wondering if anyone has to hand, or at least fancies a weekend task of chalking up all of the signings we have made/players that have departed since Kear left.
I think there's been little effort on Chester's behalf to refresh the squad or to at least try to really prioritise a few young players so that they would have been at this point first-team starters.
This year we have Signed Lino, Battye, and have Senior on a loan from another super league club that table-wise look to be one of our closest rivals. Further, the maybe/maybe not signing of Andrew Fifita - a player who is 31, injury-prone, apparently unfit, and is definitely on wages that make the rest of our squad blush - does not speak of this "recruitment policy" so strongly championed in the off-season. Let's say we do manage to bring in Fifita for the rest of the season. How long will it be for? The season? Maybe even two if we are pushing the boat out?
Anyhow, if anyone fancies looking at who we have signed from 2018 to now, and who we have let go of, then I think we'll have some interesting reading material.

The fact he is always out injured is the problem, you can be a good player sat in the stands
Just looking at Greg Edens stats he has been at Cas 2 years less than TJ has been at Wakefield averages more games per season than TJ (and a lot of his games out have been when he has been dropped) and he also has a far higher scoring rate than TJ !!!
Whilst I agree TJ "could" be a good player he needs to do it consistently and be on the field regularly
As said before your no good to your team and can't be a good player if you are always sat in the stands
Change is needed and needed fast,I realise anything would be done on the cheap so I would like to see Kear back,I don't think itcwould take a lot of money to give him another shot

| The post match press conference from CC is utterly depressing and quite frankly I am absolutely pig sick of hearing the same lame excuses being trotted out in the wake of yet another lacklustre performance: this player was missing, that player was missing, the moon wasn’t aligned with Jupiter, blah, blah, blah – what the hell does he do with the team in training every week.
His excuses do not wash. On Friday both Leeds and Wigan played with back rowers in the centres and put on a decent display, and against Saints in the Challenge cup the week before Leeds had no recognised half backs in their team but were in the game until the closing minutes. As CC has stated after each week’s dismal showing, the effort is there – for one half at least – but the lads are devoid of ideas and they are not playing as a unit. The buck stops with the coach for these performances and if he can’t get the lads motivated and to start playing as a team for 80 minutes over the course of the next 3-4 games then he has to go; it is as simple as that. And if anyone thinks that Andrew Fifita is going to get us out of this almighty hole in which we presently find ourselves or we are going to miraculously pick up wins from perceived ‘weaker’ teams then think again because it’s not going to happen.
Either CC stops the rot and fast or he should step down. If CC won’t resign (and let’s face it, he won’t get a gig anywhere else so you could see him clinging on for dear life) then MC or JM should do what their directors’ duties mandate them to do – act in the best interests of the company; and that means letting CC go and appointing a coach that can do the job.
MC, who has done so much right for our club, unfortunately got it wrong when he let John Kear walk out of the door and it’s been downhill ever since. Yes, there has been a severe injury crisis to cope with and, yes, there were issues around COVID-19 last year but you can’t escape the fact that CC has made some very dubious transfer calls; CC has been given significant coaching resources to ease the burden on him; and CC has been given an extended off season to put in place the right structures. However, sadly there is little, if any, sign of improvement. No there aren’t the sources at Wakefield but neither were there the resources at Cas when Powell took over nor at Salford when Watson took over but they managed to mould competitive sides with what they had to work with.
The upshot is that MC has been extremely supportive of CC but it is evident that it is just not working out and a parting of the ways for both parties is what is now required. Everyone makes mistakes and we learn from them; MC should not compound the mistake of letting JK go by keeping CC in charge for much longer otherwise we will be fighting it out with Leigh for the relegation spot – and, honestly, as things stand, I can’t see us avoiding the wooden spoo

| I was literally chomping at the bit to get back down to BV and see some RL, not to mention catch up with old mates, have a beer etc.
Now, not at all. It's all very depressing and getting rather toxic.
Chessie has been great for us but even he must see it's time to go. Get a fresh challenge, walk away with some dignity?
We are becoming a joke of SL, when only a few years ago teams genuinely dreading coming to BV.
All very sad, and depressing.

All true.
We need new ideas and some shrewd wheeler dealing with players (where possible!) because some are not doing it.

| Bang on dpbnov you sum it up perfectly .His signing of players have been Quantity over quality meaning no attempt to strengthen the team in key position ,never mind signing that would have made the club stronger E.G. Having 4 full backs in the squad. Just trying all the time to put square pegs in round holes

| There are currently four teams without a win.
Two more with only one win.
As we have played the current champions, current league leaders shield holders and current challenge cup holders, all away in our first 3 games, logic says those other teams have had easier games than us yet are in the same boat.
Long way to go in this season before we start falling on swords.

Can anyone explain how league points are worked out this season. I’ve just had a look at the league table, it’s showing Leigh above us with a points difference of -70 but trinity on -62, also, Wigan on +43 above tigers who are on +53 points difference. Is there a new scoring system this yea?

| Not in my wildest dreams did I expect wins in the opening rounds although I thought Leeds were there for the taking if we’d have been a little more savvy, and lucky .What I did expect was a side that looks more cohesive going forwards especially as we have had very little movement of players to disrupt training .Our tackling does look to have gone up a notch in the opening exchanges but then the same old mistakes creep in and we’re playing catch up which weve never been right good at . I rate the squad I really do but there is just something missing from their game ,a spark or a cohesion that is missing from our game , and I’ll be honest it worries me .I watch a hell of a lot of rugby league both here and in Australia and our style of play is shocking compared to nearly every other team, to the point it’s almost lethargic compared .My fear is we end up yet again in a end of season tussle for relegation even at this early stage of the season .There Is defo something not right at the club to be putting that standard of rugby out week after week

In other words, it`s okay that we are rubbish because there are a few other teams that are rubbish and hopefully they are more rubbish than us.

| In the round robin matches ( were we got to play some teams 3times ) every one of them teams will be high in the table. Not a case of playing the easy teams like we did when we get London in the last match to stay up .We got to get some wins from some were or we are in big trouble big time 4 wins will not keep us up

You make me smile, you really do! You're a good bloke me thinks......but, you have fallen into the trap of a psychological battle already. So, we're playing Leeds, Wigan, Saints etc, so the theory is, we can't possibly beat them, why not?! 3 years ago at Wigan, we went 20-0 down, we lost Miller & Arona & Walker all to injury, what happened? we scored 42 unanswered points, could you see this lot doing that? 2 years ago we beat Leeds missing 10 players, could you see this lot doing that? No, me neither. By highlighting other teams problems you are deflecting away our own problems, you are like an alcoholic who just won't go to those AA meetings...... ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)
