| Quote: Fordy "So you're happy to lay the blame at the feet of the developer whose primary purpose is to make money and satisfy his shareholders. Yet from what Vasty is saying, and what you're ignoring, is that the party that should have been fighting for the results we were led to believe we would get is the one that has failed to fulfill it's purpose.'"
No, that's not what I said. At all.

| Bren our down fall is we don't own the ground due to Ted trying to rearrange his finances to keep the club running and now we pay astronomical rent that could put the club out of business if we cant keep up with the rest, if the club can't run on a new Belle Vue ground and additional area I'd be bob smacked but yes it does need more than a paint job.
you might think that the club has been shafted but while Newmarket was going to be a community stadium it wasn't just aimed at Wakefield Trinity, either way we are in a position to bargain with YC but hell could they make life hard for us

| Well for me it looks like YC are keeping to the money part of the deal and looks like the other part of the funding has been lost due to ground standards changing with P and R.If YC are prepared to put that funding into BV all the better for me as BV can be made to work if under a new east stand we have exhibition/conference facilitys to bring extra income in.Newmarket was never going to bring the floating fan in like BV could>Lacking in easy walk from town and any of the train stations Westgate/Kirkgate/Sandal.

| I agree - exhibition & conference facilities would create an additional revenue stream which would be very welcome. But again I would ask - who would own the redeveloped Belle Vue? Would it be the club (which I think everyone here would view as the most desirable outcome), or would it be the stadium trust (with one of the partners being the council...)? I think this is an important point, so would someone in the know (TRB or Vastman?) please let us know the answer.

Not in the know but it would have to be the stadium trust as the basis of the planning permission was for a community stadium and associated facilities

Not "in the know" but its the trust who will own and develop BV.

| Is it a bad thing if Belle Vue were to be owned by the Stadium Trust and we were to be tenants. We would have to pay rent to the Trust but I think it will be less than we pay to the Bank of Ireland now.
Also the ownership of Belle Vue would be secure. I believe that Ted Richardson sold Belle Vue in what he believed to be the best interest of the Club but the outcome was that we lost the freehold title and now pay an expensive rent.
The Stadium Trust owning title will prevent the ground being sold from underneath the Club and the existing covenant preventing its sale can be placed on the title and even strengthened.

| I remember saying this to you in February time - Newmarket being a no-go and BV being developed. I just didn't expect it to take so long to be announced.
To me it's a no brainer - the infrastructure is there already at BV, and if YorkCourt are involved with a similar sum of money, then BV can be developed considerably quicker, cheaper and easier, without disrupting the half-assed fans who wouldn't go to Newmarket.
This to me seems like a positive for the club - don't forget, the Newmarket stadium does not exist, so you've not lost anything

Thats all very well, but how will this affect the merger of Wakey and Cas that the whole Rugby League world has been obsessed in ?

Unless your being ironic and i've missed it - the RL world hasn't been obsessing about this for a while.
I would argue you are the first poster to mention it in quite a while.
Just saying.

| The words I used 3 years ago were Trojan Horse and now it comes to pass. No community Facilities for the people of Outwood etc. It is time that you see that people like TRB will bend to anybodies tune as long as it keeps him in the Lime light on his crusade.
He has done YC s dirty work for them. Running round with the petition turning up on mass to "local" Public consultations muddying real public opinion.
I hope your proud of yourself now because of people like you a community will have to live on the doorstep of this monstrosity with no benefit to them.
Very sad indeed and all because he likes a bit of attention. Him and IA still telling you to trust them and not to upset YC.

| Was the fact that wakefield needed a NEW stadium not a "exceptional circumstance" that was used to give the rest of the application weight?
If it was I would expect the people who objected to re surface along with the local communities to seek clarification.
