Too close to call for me but ashurst arona and wood'"

Maybe somethng to do with being by far the biggest meter maker of any forward, most carries in the side, has an excellent average gain, rarely misses a tackle and most of the time oppostion players just can't handle him. We haven't had a forward that offers that kind of X Factor in years. As far as coming off the bench, how does that matter? Ftr he's started 13 times and come off the bench 11 times this season anyway & as PT says, being a starter or on the bench, that doesn't indicate how good you are anymore at Prop. It's obvious he could start more and has done like against Leeds but CC has used him has an impact Prop and he's done the job exceptionally well imo. When he plays well, he lifts the whole team.
I'll leave you to question my knowledge now. icon_lol.gif What an y thing to say, just because someone has a different point of view to you.

For me it's hard to seperate Fifita, Arona & Ashurst this season and you coud probably make good arguements for about 3 or 4 more others.

Tupou has had a good season as well, scored tries, makes meters for fun and learned to pass to his winger.
BJB as well has had an excellent season
Don't know whether you'd put him in the most improved category because we knew he could play and had pace to burn, but MCB has stepped in and been excellent for us. Thinking about it most improved probaby has to go to Hirst.
Wood's done everything that's been asked of him & more this season . Been a bit of a surprise tbh how well he's done.
Grix started off brilliantly, did have a few poor games but came back strong in the last one to show everyone that he's still got it in him.
Finny has well just been Finny, consistant. Nothing flashy but just knows how to guide the team around the pitch and uses his excellent Rugby brain to great effect.

Any one of Ashurst, Arona or Wood for me. I'd probably go in that order but it is a close call.

I've been a very proud supporter this season of the whole team and of course it could get even better yet... let's wait and see.So it's really hard to pick a stand out player of the year reading all the posts on this subject there is a good shout for several candidates. I'd say the top 3 for consistency of performance would be Arona, Ashurst and Wood with Fifita and Finn close behind but I wouldn't be surprised at anyone being awarded the accolade, the whole team deserve great credit for what they have achieved this season.

All that icon_rolleyes.gif and i think he was referring to the inclusion of Hirst in the 3 nomination not Fifita c020.gif

1. Arona
2. Ashurst
3. Wood

As mentioned previously, I don't think Arona has had a bad game all season and was certainly missed when out injured.

Takes it for me ahead of the equally consistent Ashurst and then Kyle Wood in 3rd. Have to admit, I wasn't overjoyed at re signing KW, but he has gone on to prove all doubters wrong.

Maybe because that prop has such a massive influence on the team and games when he does come on?

I like Anakin for many reasons, He is the last of the great title winning under 18 team that were a joy to watch, at that time he was one of the very best players of his age group, he was mismanaged but has stuck with the club, he steps up and gives 100 % when asked. He has sat matches out and never spat his dummy, when given a chance he does his best. I would go so far as to say he is a Mr Reliable, a club stalwart. For me he could become legend, a player who despite the ups and downs is always there for us. Never forget the Bradford million pound game, he was immense that day. He suffered a bad injury last season, and has returned leaner and fitter. He has again given his all for us this season. He takes the tough carries, he is never a soft tackle , he hits as hard as he can. He plays like Trinity means something to him and that endears him to me. So for me he is my man of the season. I fear that his agent will make unrealistic demands that may result in a move.

In all seriousness you do make a compelling case for Anakin.
I agree with what you say but I'd say he is the man for ALL seasons, not the man of the season. He isn't the best player this year.
If he's happy to play like he does as often as he does then I'm all for him seeing out his career at Wakefield.....and I can see me voting for him to get future contracts and end of season awards but he isn't the best player we have or the best player in any of the seasons he's played. But that's OK. Neither are most of the others.

Anyway even after reading it again, he may have been referring to hirst but it's not really clear is it, especially as he mentions Fifita at the start and then goes on from there. Can't be just me, a poster below you has read it the same way as I did.

By the way, what's with the emoticons?
