| Quote: Big lads mate "I remember an interview a few seasons back where one of them was talking about a mental issue he had, I cannot remember if it was Andrew or David, but it was very emotional even to the point where one of the twins was too upset and walked out of the room, like I’ve said very emotional interview.'"
It’s Andrew who suffers from depression as well as being quite intense - very outspoken in support of a friend who was a one punch killer, can’t recall his name. It got Andrew in a lot of bother and lost him a place in the Australian team. It was a big deal a few years back.
In the interview Andrew expressed suicidal thoughts which proved to much for David and he walked out of the interview. Twins may look the same but they don’t all think the same. I know this because oddly I was friend with three sets of twins during my youth though not all at once. Dave is clearly more laid back and up for a laugh - this is a strength and a weakness. Ditto Andrew but the other way around.
Bit like the Fox brothers, Neil well balanced and personable, Don introverted and intense, Peter well he was just a one off and to me tats what Dave is, just a force of nature.
Bit long winded but o had some time on my hands

| That sounds very familiar BLM
Personally I think Dave getting out of the lime light of the NRL and being in the right environment here has helped him thrive
It's being such a pleasure to see him reach his potential
I used to love watching Dave Solamona the guy was pure magic, Dave is a different type of player with a different skill set but still has that same magic when he get the ball
The bonus being how much he loves us fans and how much we love him back
I think he's become the heart beat of our team if such a thing is possible

Solomona was the better player and a true game breaker and the best player I’ve seen in a Trinity shirt. However I now like Dave even more, not just because of what he does but the way the whole team plays when he’s on. He brings out the best in his fellow players and when he’s on we look a top team and that makes him worth his considerable weight in gold.
Not a bad post for a thicky

HE isn't as skilled as his brother - NOR as fit (not that any of them are) but Andrew can go longer mins in the NRL.

| Quote: Prince Buster "I don't follow NRL so I had never heard of him or his brother. I remember one poster saying he was gash and not even reserve grade, well he hasn't turned out that bad at all.
I also remember his first year and although a good player he had a lot of daft things in his game. Remember away at warrington when he made a ash of playing the ball with seconds to go and it costing us the game. I think the guy has really settled in and now this seems to be his best season ever. I do think he has huge natural talent but I am also in that school which believe the club and its environment is also greatly responsible the 'The Big Bopper' to blossom into a terrific prop.'"
trust me those silly pens and mistakes and costing us game is still there it will happen again this year - but for now we will take him winning us games- that's why he suits a msmall club like us and not NRL or a bigger club - its rocks and diamonds - but so far this year it is DIAMAONDS!!!

David is playing well enough to return to the Tongan team this year and join Andrew. Could see them lining up against Gt Britain.

Agreed, I actually was surprised win he didn't make it last year - I wonder if he made himself unavailable last year.

| Agree with Vasty...Solomona was one of very few genuine world class players we’ve had...we got him in arguably the best form he showed in his career, form that got him in the test side and I loved watching him play.
Big Dave for me has overtaken him though...I’ve loved him since his first season...his whole attitude is top class. I said all last year he’s the hardest player in the whole squad to replace....he brings that much it’s impossible for any other player to step in and bring what he does when he’s missing..TJ and BT are obviously top, top players who we are going to miss but IMO we would miss Dave far more than those two...as has been said he’s the heartbeat of the team and gets everyone else playing too...that 2nd spell the other night was unbelievable...just unplayable...
The other thing this season is he doesn’t seem to be carrying any injuries like he has in the past and that’s why I think we’re seeing what we are now....he’s the best prop in the comp for me and I wouldn’t swap him for anyone...
Really hope we can get him tied down for longer ASAP as every team in the league would surely be in for him given the chance!

Some did, but then again some know what they are watching and didn't get blinded by the kick off return at Hull FC and saw him for what he was - technically a long way behind the likes of Wilkes, Sculthorpe, King, Stosic and the like who we had around the same time.

| I had my doubts early doors, thought he was a bit of a show pony and a 'luxury' player, happily been proved wrong on this one and he is (in super league standards) top drawer and a pleasure to watch.

Hey lets not underplay that kick off return. It effectively demoralised Hull and gave us the impetus to go on and grab that game back from the jaws of defeat and subsequently get as near as we've ever been to a Grand Final appearance.
Generally, Korkidas was more positives than negatives and regularly played his part well in the team of that era. Putting him behind Danny Sculthorpe is laughable whether you use braille or not.

I actually meant Ricky Bibey - not Sculthorpe, my mistake, We didn't get the best of Sculthorpe but it would have still been a close call between him and Korkidas for me.

Agree with this
Dave and bill both should as a miniumum get a place in the Tonga squad
Despite Tonga being very strong in props and outside backs both players should be looking to get a call up

Technically maybe, but Korky popped a bollock for the shirt every game and could do good minutes - thats why he was first choice ahead of those you mention during his stay.
Not the greatest player but at the time when we were held together by team spirit, guts and good wishes, he was what we needed.
