Having said that, I firmly believe that Cas will eventually have no choice but to ask to share NM; the chances of them getting GH off the ground within the franchise period are, imo, slim to none.'"
I quite agree, although I hope we are both wrong.
The reason I did the poll on both sites a few weeks back was based on that premise and the RFL invoking their new (beat wakey and cas!!) rule.
I think they are just starting to run into the problems we did, obviously tgre are similarities and differences with both plans, but I think they are now further behind than we may have thought, say six months since.
It seems the further you progress with these things the more problems you encounter and the longer things take, wether this will turn out to be a problem for cas, or wether they have an ace up their sleeves still who knows.
On balance we have yet to get our yes yet either, and I've given up trying to guess the outcome.............

Some talk of Bradford Northern and some of Hull and Leeds
Of Wigan and St Helens and such great teams as these
Of all the teams in Rugby league with me you will agree
The best team in the whole wide world is Wakefield Trinity!

Wakefield FC now join us in JOINT support for Newmarket!
Great news!
I had always hoped they would join us, this is exactly what the city/stadium needs. A football team would be great for Wakefield and to have them at Newmarket makes the site even more viable in terms of footfall & economics, not to mention providing a brilliant stage to grow BOTH brands, both proudly sporting the city's name!
As far as the future of WFC goes I hope they can enlist the help of SRW & build the brand.

| So what happened at this meeting?
Is Wakefield FC now part of Newmarket was it stated that they will play out of Newmarket if it goes through?

I think initially it would be taking advantage of the potential training facilities on offer. Perhaps playing out of the stadium may be a little too much of a burden at this stage of their development, but if they ever made it to the football league then i'm sure they will come on board.

Reading some of the stuff a mate of mine who follows non-league football sent me about Wakefield FC, they'll be lucky to make it to next week, never mind the football league. The main problem seems to be a real lack of identity and a place to call their own.

That's how I understood it as well. Basically Wakefield FC were saying that they used to have 7 or 8 teams playing out of College Grove but now because the football pitch has gone at CC they've only got the first team left. If they can use Newmarket then they can re-start these teams. It all ties in with the Trinity community plan to get more people involved with sport.
I also wouldn't be surprised if they used the pitch with 1 stand to play the matches on.

| Only the 1st team and reserves regularly played on the CG pitch, the rest played on the pitches over the road and up by Pinderfields. The other teams only used the changing facilities and rarely at that.
With only sponsorship money and gate receipts they found it hard to afford to play out of CG. How they expect to pay for any of the facilities at NM I haven't a clue.

its what is required for the stadium to be a success, more than one club using it.
in fact it would be the idea solution to have both Wakefield club share it rather than guiseley fc

| Just as a aside, should we consider the playing surface if everything falls into place at NM,Remember last time we had the round ball at BV it almost destroyed the best playing surface in the league,no firm opinion myself other than obviously don't like to see any wakefield team fall by the wayside, just being devil's advocate

Which adds weight to the idea of an artificial pitch as at Widnes.
