parking has to be an issue, its chocca already around xscape on a weekend but I would expect xscape and asda to do as they have in Wigan , where the retail park dont allow rugby parking and have wardens to police it.
anyway, I have to say this thread has restored my faith in genuine rugby fans , its appreciated and reciprocated
didnt think anyone from cas could spell a word that long did you?
TBH Kingy i thought about locking this thread but i'm glad i didn't (so far) just shows that adults can chew the fat without resorting to petty squabbles.
Cas and Wakey fans debating the ins and outs, well i never

Cas will be at Wheldon road in 2012 but if they have a stadium that work has already begun ready to move into for 2013 then i think this will be enough to satify the RFL.
I personally believe Cas will get planning permission and will have started work in time for their application and unfortunatly for us i think they will get a franchise ahead of us. That said however, there is still plenty of water to pass under the bridge.

Do Xscape really think that there'll be more than 880 car users? If we assume that all those cars will be full that equates to roughly 3500 people. Considering crowds are around 7000 at the moment, do they really think 50% of our crowds come with cars or will use cars?
People from Ponty can walk/jump on a bus/catch the train.
People from Cas can walk
People from Knottla can catch train
People from GH can walk
People from Leeds can catch train
It's only from further afield like Wigan/Saints/Hull where they will drive.'"
If only planning decisions were that simple; when it comes to travel & transport issues, they don't base their decisions on what people can or should do, they base them on what people actually do, and they infer knowledge about what people actually do using some fairly arcane methodology.
I've just had to pay a specialist consultant a considerable sum of money to produce a travel plan for a development I'm in involved in, to demonstrate to the WMDC Highways bods the number of vehicular journeys the development will attract when it's complete. I know already, because I run 13 sites with similar developments in other parts of the country, but my simple logic didn't even come close to satisfying the Highways Depts' requirements.

Maybe you should check your fact first.

Said it all along and was always shot down from both sides of the fence. Even dragged dispersal orders into the argument and the fact local establishments didn't want unwanted cars there.

There is no reason as to why we won't get a franchise for the next few years.

| Thing is its not necessarily us you have to worry about, we know we are gonners. If your build is delayed then Halifax might just get the nod ahead of you yet.

I think you shouldn't get too complacent, just yet.
Just because you're confident you'll have a better bid than Wakefield doesn't mean you'll definitely get a license. Are you sure you'll beat Halifax/Widnes if they go to the second stage? Your application will be based on playing at Wheldon Road. Can you afford to lose those points?
How are clubs planning new or redeveloped stadia going to be assessed?
New stadiums or redevelopments of existing stadiums will only be taken into account if the RFL is satisfied that the stadium will be open or the redevelopment finished by the start of the 2012 season.

Never fear I'm certainly not being too confident at all as I know things can bite you when you least expect it. I think Widnes will get a chance this time around especially as St. Helens will be in their new stadium but not at all sure about Halifax. We'll all just have to wait and see what is decided in July this this year.

| Does this news from cas not put us back in the running? If we can get into Oakwell this would be one of the best stadiums in sl and if we get something positive about the PI before then it must give us hope.We beat cas in the community and junior development boxes with the success of the academy team over the last few years and financially with AG running the club are financially stable, just the admin which is letting us down,RW never goes public with finances so who knows they may be up the creek, unless somebody can prove otherwise.
Seems that RW is again trying to pull the wool and make it all look rosy but he never gives any proof of having the funding, but I may be wrong.
All this said I still WANT both of us to stat in sl and get rid of the welsh and quins but we all know this is not going to happen.
So heres hoping for both clubs

| I think RW latest comments at the supporters meeting last night proves he is not trying to pull the wool, its testing times for all teams and nobody especially Cas and Wakey can be too confident. ATEOTD if we are in SL come the start of next season the great but if not then still its great for me because il still get to watch my team play rugby, whether it be DW stadium, Leight Sports Village or up at Crigg, i would still be there to support Cas Tigers.
The very best of luck to Wakey
