Not sure who has bought the land but they have already paid the fee with the rest due on departure of the site. If it's fallen through then someone has lost a lot of money.

Lets say you were a oldish/retired businessman with £2-5m in the bank. You would be mad to take on a rugby league club, your just giving the money away. You really need tens of millions IMO where drip feeding 1-2 million over 2-3 years isnt even felt.

Indeed. It’s a shame we couldn’t get the bloke from Mirfield who’s just sold the card factory to pump some £’s in. I know his priority is Huddersfield Town but £350m goes a lot further in Rugby League than in football.
