So you're saying he wasn't behind Sims, Hill, Westerman, Westwood, Hughes, Livett and Philbin in 2016?

No, I’m saying that the point you and others are making about him being used wrongly as a substitute isn’t a very valid one when Tony Smith gave him 1 start in 40 odd appearances in two seasons.
Would you like to have a wager that he’ll be used more as a sub than a starter for Hull KR next season?

| On another note...this current game proving what a near impossible task us lower ended teams have going up against the top sides while ravaged by injuries...
No lack of effort on Huddersfield’s part but just haven’t got enough quality players on the field to be able to stop Saints..

Why is it not a valid point?
Who would he displace for a starting spot?
What I'm saying is he offers very little from the bench and would be better starting.
And yep, I'll wager he starts more than he's benched.

| Just looking through the first half of last season, when Chester had just about a fully fit squad...George King took part in 13 of the first 14 games.
He started 4 times...bothe wins against Leeds...London away and HKR at home...probably our two worst defeats of the opening half of the season...
He played 9 times off the bench in a good bunch of results...5 wins...2 point loss away at Cas...two point defeat at home to Warrington, 6 point loss to Saints and an away defeat at Hull.
After 14 rounds we were 3rd in the table...King played a part in that, mostly off the bench...after that injuries struck right across the team, disruptions, loss of form etc...
The reason he’s leaving, if I’m not mistaken is to do with money?
Overall I think Chester was very fair with him and used him pretty well...

| I haven’t posted on here for about a year but a couple of things caught my eye recently.
The injury situation when we lost 38-0 to Warrington was used as the reason for the loss yet had CC used everyone who was available to him he could have played a team that was almost the same as the one that beat Warrington 18-8.
Tom Johnstone’s the obvious absentee and he did score a late try in the win earlier in the season. Apart from that though it’s very much like for like ie. Atkins replacing Arundel & Kirmond replacing Pitts. We could even have picked Fifita if we wanted to find another way of sanctioning him.
WIN TEAM VS possible team
Jowitt/Jowitt
Tupou/Tupou
Lyne/Gigot
Arundel/Atkins
Johnstone/Croft
Miller/Miller
Hampshire/Hampshire
Kopczak/Kopczak
K Wood/K Wood
Tanginoa/Tanginoa
Ashurst/Ashurst
Pitts/Kirmond
Westerman/Westerman
J Wood/J Wood
Bachelor/Bachelor
Tangata/Tangata
Navarette/Navarette

| Welcome back Avenger...always thought you were a decent poster!
Few clear differences between the two games though...
1) we had home advantage in the first one.
2) conditions in the first game (storm Dennis) and a heavy pitch probably suited us more.
3) we’d had a preseason and not come back to a game with different rules. I know it’s the same for all teams but think we are struggling with it..
4) it was Widdops first game and if I remember he was really poor that day as opposed to last week where him and Austin look to be a pairing that are getting better by the week.
5) Warrington had a week off while we were in the cup the week before...with the demands on the players since the restart an extra week off is a big advantage I’d say.
6) form and confidence...both teams couldn’t be further apart on that score after lockdown...

Things are only obvious to the people who understand what your talking about, my reply was to poptart who commented on Warringtons eagerness to get rid of King, my reply then to poptart was why then did we sign King, still with me? it's not difficult if you read it properly, I hope that clears things up for you too, perhaps it might have been easier on your part if you had explained yourself a bit more and not thrown in the unnecessary rolling eyes for effect.

| Whilst we're on the subject of Wire, they stood down Hill, Widdop, Philbin and Clarke and still racked up some points v Hull FC tonight.

| I suppose looking at recent form we should be able to beat Hull, do you agree? upthecats. If we fail to do so and continue to perform badly even you must admit it is time for Chester to go or will there be other excuses. The games I have seen clearly show we are currently the worst. I know many have conceded large scores but they still look better organised than us. It may be negative but sorry it is true and I think even PT must accept that we are in the same position as other teams but where they look to entertain we just appear clueless. We can’t even manage the five drives and a kick anymore.
I know I have posted before we could lose every game and he will not be going anywhere unless he starts to impact on the club’s revenue which cannot be covered by other income streams.

| I’d be very disappointed if we lost by the same sort of scores as we did against Catalans and Warrington, yes!
Those were two good sides though, in form, most of their top players playing, while we’ve had a fair amount of disruption, things against us etc...
Think the extra week off will have done us the world of good and with what looks like plenty of players returning I’d expect us to field a side that shouldn’t have any excuses...
I also feel we’ll have an advantage as Hull may have an eye on their cup game just a few days later which will surely be their priority over two super league points...

TBH thought hull looked awful considering what the team cost, tbh would rather have miller than connor who looks totally out of his depth playing in the halves, kelly however is class. Realistically this is probably our best chance of a win in the next few weeks so here's hoping

And both sets of half’s playing behind beaten packs in their last outings .Whoever loses it won’t just be down to the half’s as there are another 15 players on each side to throw into the mix, or is all the blame for our poor performances Solely down to just two men at the club. As I see it the whole team has to step up to the plate ,forwards/backs in order for us to get the win not just the half’s.

| The twos teams both have problems, Hull have a relatively new head coach and we have a long standing head coach. It will be interesting to see how each team performs because this is a game we should probably win or at least score.

| Just to say, from a warrington pov, price didn't want king to leave, he was very happy with him as a squad player (and also last year a lot of us wondered why we were playing a lot more for Jason Clark for the same performance we probably got from king)
But George asked for his release, wanted a fresh challenge and trying to establish himself as a starter.

But maybe he signed initially on the strength that he would start more?
It's water under the bridge now, see how he goes at HKR.

| I don’t actually blames the halves their only problem appears to be they are trying to cover for our deficiencies in other areas. They have no dummy runners or second phase to work from, so they try to compensate for this by doing too much. I accept their kicking game is not the best but when you consider that when Brough played his was equally unimpressive therefore the actual problem must be elsewhere.
We just don’t have a team game plan what we have is each player acts independently.

We get it. You blame Chester.
Personally, although I get that we need forward power and some of our forwards are not performing (or past it) but I still think a good scrum half would improve the forwards too.
Finishing the plays properly will give us more energy in the forwards.
You only have to look at the difference Tim Smith made to Kirmond.
