| Mathers was both one of our worst players and one of our best players today!
It was that bad a game.
Cut out the silly errors and the scoreboard would look very different.

| I agree he showed up decent in attack but it's no good being primarily responsible for letting a few Trys in and trying to make up for it later in game. That's not what we or the team needs.

| I wonder if Mathers is carrying an injury? I'd give him a week or two off and move Cockayne to full back, Mellars to wing (where he played a lot at Crusaders) and Walshaw to centre. It may give us some extra punch & size out wide which may trouble Catalan. We may also need to look at our defence a bit more which seems to be weakening as the weeks go by

| Looks like he's carrying an injury to me & looked like he was having a fitness test before Monday's game too . Give him a couple of weeks off if that's the case for me .

| He had his right? leg strapped up against Leeds (thigh/hamstring) and he was given a thorough going over, and on a number of occasion opted to kick with his left leg during the session. Isaac John was also warming up as 18th man so there must have been some concern.

| Alas its what you get with Mathers he has 6-7 games average a couple of great games and brainfarts a couple of games. If he has an injury give him some rest for his own good.Who to play at Fullback Cockayne will run the ball back hard and go full blooded into the tackle but lets face it aint the best at dealing with kicks. If you put Sykes to Fullback you then have Issac John at 6 and thats a big backward step as he aint got it and never will have it.

| Until we can attract players that aren't like that he'll have to do.

| I think Mathers has been great this season. He has made a few mistakes recently. Tough call for Agar.

All players make mistakes but, the last 2 games have been gifted to the opposition by our own unforgivable errors.
We should be on the brink of the top 8 tonight, not looking behind us'"
Probably where is he playing his next round of golf cos that's all he goes on about on twitter. If he spent less time on the golf co and more time concentrating on his defensive skills he may have better games.

| If he hadn't knocked on that second time, would people be as critical? And for that one, I think he dropped it because he received an almighty hit. He didn't know where he was for five minutes.
If we are going to rest him, I would put Ben in there, subject to there being someone decent to put on the wing. He returns the ball with gusto. I am a fan of his as a player, but not as a winger. He isn't tall enough and he comes in too often.

LOL how dare he talk about anything on twitter apart from rugby and I didn't realize he's missed training to play golf, I'm just hoping this comment was tongue in cheek.
