Wigan St Judes 16 v Normanton Knights 28 U 14's National Cup

Can I just say a big thank you to the fantastic welcome that was received at Wigan St Jude's today from everybody at Normanton Knights U14's. It was a fantastic day and even though the result finally went to Normanton, it could of gone either way.

The game was played in glorious sunshine in fantastic spirit. The Normanton lads played a real team game and dug deep at the end with 2 late tries to clinch the win. St Jude's should also be proud of the performance their lads put in and never stopped trying.

Thanks again for a superb welcome. A fantastic day out.

cas academy yr7 ran out 46-0 winners in the wakefield schools cup final at featherstone against freeston high.

im sure there are tougher games to come has they get down to the nitty gritty of the national cup.

so after all the palaver over who was playing who and ultimately not even realizing st Beckett's had made the final the barnsley rd school triumphed 30-10 quite easily showing that a lot more experience young lads play and dare i say union although Ketty can hold their heads high the better team on the certainly walked away with the trophy.

St Thomas a Becket's

Bit of a mix up and an unfortunate lack of sportsmanship at U13s year 8.

Carlton were meant to play Ossett in the semi but a mixed message from a junior PE teacher regarding whether the game was on meant Carlton registered Ossett as a no show and therefore a forfeit.

The Ossett lads were actualy stripped and waiting on the pitch for their opposition, when the error was discovered. The head of Ossett PE tried to get Carlton to rearrange but they flatly refused and chose instead to take a place in the final where they got beaten 44-0 by Kettlethorpe.

Not the best message to be sending to the students.

Several of the Eastmoor Junior teams are at home this weekend (should help the funds!!)

On Saturday the action starts with the Under 11’s against Oulton Raiders at 10.30. This is followed by the 12’s Cup game with the Batley Boys at 11.30 and finishes with the 13’s home cup clash with Dewsbury Celtic.

On Sunday the Under 8’s are at Home against Kippax.

Please feel free to come and watch what should be some exciting games with hopefully the sun still shining.

cas panthers u12s are safely in the hat of the yorks challenge cup after giving a superb performance to beat shaw cross 4-26.

again 5 different scorers which is very pleasing but this was very much a team effort with every player playing there part,full credit to shaw cross who play some lovely rugby.

Sandal Spartans U13's have been promoted from div 4 to div 2 of the Yorkshire Junior League; I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

We will compete but we have a small squad and injuries or absences will make it hard for us. We are in the process of trying to recruit a couple of big forwards so if anyone's out there and wants to come down then feel free to do so.

This group of players have played just 13 games including friendlies and have been together just 6 months. In that time we've won the 5th division remained unbeaten in 2012 League and Cup competitions and are now promoted to Div 2.

It's a tall order for any team to go from Div 5 to Div 2 in such a short period but at the same time it's a testimony to the hard work and character of the lads.

Stanley under 13's have 17 players, we need 20 going into the 14's, been here before, and seen my eldest sons team have a squad of 21 and play 5 games during the under 14's season with 12 men, and still reach a National Cup final, you deffo need a couple of extra players has we do too x

Eastmoor Dragons under 12’s progressed to the next round of the cup with a comfortable 42-10 victory over Batley Boys. The Dragons played their best rugby of the season to date & scored some eye catching tries against a determined Batley side that didn’t throw in the towel

Does anybody know when the draw is for the next round?

possibly tonight has there is a yorkshire juniors meeting.

the next round is to be played on may 12th with semi finals the week after which meens a two week break

ive got to be happy with that draw,although east leeds will be very tough it is also very winable and with the added incentive of an all cas semi final has a reward thats if lock lane beat eastmoor.
