The European court of human rights is not part of the EU so the stupid decision made yesterday will not impact on this body. I regret the decision taken but it is now up to those in charge to follow through on the promises so many have believed. We are a small country with only Great in our title after yesterday we are an even smaller part of the world.
I fear the years ahead because we cannot go back and those that voted to leave have placed their futures and working conditions into the hands of a party who for example dislike the working time directive and maternity/paternity benefits.
In respect of something that many will not have considered but the removal of roaming charges was forced on companies by the EU do you think these same companies will do the same for us and then we have border controls which work both ways. I bet many of you who going on holiday got used to being waved through with your EU passports sadly this could end and you may have to wait much longer whilst each passport is checked.

Agreed.
And with Scotland likely to break away at the earliest possible opportunity and perhaps Northern Ireland, I dont think that "Great Britain" exists any more.
We really are little England.
Perpignan is looking very expensive already

| Or maybe we've just rejoined the rest of the world, which is a much bigger place, while breaking away from "little Europe".

| We have indeed joined a bigger place, which makes little England even smaller.

| Well, every cloud has a silver lining. Cameron to step down. Hopefully that's Osbourne gone too. Not sure I'm liking who the alternative could be though.

| The fallout from this decision will have knock on effects for years to come and precious few of them will be positive. A dark day for the UK which itself is likely to break up in the coming years making England nothing more than a tiny speck battling to survive against major super powers. The only real hope is that large parts of the remaining EU follows suit and it breaks up. The likelihood of that though is slim, they are not as insuler and backward thinking a 51.9% of this country.

To be fair, I get the impression that a fair number of Europeans aren't happy with the EU either. This referendum could trigger others.
Whilst I voted to stay in, now that we're out it needs to happen pretty sharpish to minimise the uncertainty. I've heard talk of 2020 as the year for the official exit, well fours years of uncertainty will be a bad thing and definitely will hit the economy.

| Sigh, like Turkeys voting for Christmas.
Really despair at the result, especially those from Yorkshire and the North of England

There is no uncertainty, everything is positive, Mr Farage and Boris said so and I believe everything they tell me, NOT
The "Great British Pound" is taking on the value of a gold milk bottle top at the moment and although it will recover, this alone will bring some inflation into the economy.
As we import nearly everything that we consume, prices will certainly have to rise in the short term and thats before we start to re negotiate our trade deals.
Never mind though, we're all really well off so it doesn't matter

| People voted to get rid of unelected politicians in Europe; and now they'll get an unelected Prime Minister, chosen by about 150,000 Conservative party members. Yay.

| I guess we no longer need UKIP or its leader Farage because sadly they have completed what they were set up to do. Why do I not think it will be the case however, and we will have to endure his smug smiling face across our screens.
Cameron was so determined to win the election that in order to keep his supporters from UKIP he made one promise too many and we are now in the position we are in. He had no choice but to resign however he can afford to do this from his privaledged position unfortunately his legacy may result in him going down as the PM of finally destroyed the UK. We will also face a Tory party who will lurch further to the right and that will be at the expense of our working conditions, many of which only exist because of the EU.
I note that already Spain who will no longer be restrained by the EU are looking for joint sovereignty over Gibraltar and Scotland another referendum which I am sure they will win.
We will no longer be Great Britain but Fractured Britain with a split population all brought about by the folly of one man and his parties desire to win at all costs.
We also have an unelected head in the Queen so should we now be given a vote on the position of the monarchy.
