I have no problem with bringing players in on loan.
You get to have a look at them, whilst only paying part of their wage and if they are any cop, you make a polite inquiry about signing them permanently.
A lot better than signing someone and being lumbered with them if they don't perform.

We need to sign that guy we had in the 70s and early 80s - A.N. Other. Bloody brilliant, he was. Prop one week, winger the next, then a stint at scrum half and full back. Sometimes white, sometimes black. Spoke with a Yorkshire, Lancastrian and Cumbrian accent. I've never known a guy as versatile. Never a Trinity player when he turned up as A.N. Other, mind, but you couldn't fault him for effort.
