| Quote: coco the fullback "Exactly. ???
The season tickets are £100 now, but in October they will be £175 if the target is not met.
There is no mention of increasing the price of the tickets already bought, only future tickets if they don't sell 2500 @ £100 this month.
Asking for further payment on tickets already bought would be crazy.'"
I can only imagine you are being deliberately, let's say "obtuse". It is very clear - 2500 means the cost will be held at £100, less means price is £175.
It is written on the website (perhaps not clearly enough), that if it is not met, people have the choice of a refund or paying the extra £75.

| Quote: dboy "I disagree.
The information was all there, though perhaps not coherently presented for some people.
As long as 2500 memberships are achieved, the early bird price of £100 will be honoured. Should it not be met people are entitled to decline the offer and have their £100 returned or to pay the extra £75.
Taken directly from the club site - "We can only promise to keep the price down if we get the 2500 fans. If less than 2500 supporters become a member, season ticket prices will revert back to last years early bird price of £175 adults, £95 Concessions and £20 juniors."'"
Quote: dboy "I keep banging on about this, but I am convinced you are wrong, and those who are holding out because they don't want to be asked to pay an extra £75 are daft. The deal on the website quoted £100 as the price, and said it had to be paid "in full". There is not one single word on any of the flyers or website that suggests you will be asked for any more money after you have paid "in full".
It has come about because of the slightly confusing language in the initial letter, and I wasn't exactly sure when I first read it, but this misconception may have cost the club quite a few tickets.
If I am wrong, however, the club is in really sticky waters with Trading Standards. You can't advertise a price as a price "in full", as a time-limited offer, and then ask for more. For example, a business couldn't accept full payment on double-glazing on an agreed quote, and once it's been in the bank for a couple of months, turn around and say that you can't have the windows until you hand over nearly double the money.'"
Can you not grasp the confusion caused by this, if people want to take back the £100 in the morning they are legally entitled to do so, or so i've just been informed.

| What are you confused by?
I have agreed to buy a ticket for £100.
That price only stands if 2499 other people do the same.
If they do, the deal I made is binding.
If they don't, I have the OPTION of having my £100 returned OR of paying an extra £75.
I can't see what the confusion is! It's simple!!

Read Sluggers post and his views on the "paid in full" and its nothing in the offer is legally binding.

I can't remember if there was "T's & C's" box to tick when I bought mine, TBH.
I imagine the deposit is what's "paid in full" - I would expect that to be the club's answer.
It will cost you a lot more than the cost of the ST to challenge this in a court! The club would, quite rightly, just give you your money back.
I don't understand why this is becoming such a drama.
If you didn't understand the deal, why did you buy into it?

I am happy with the deal dboy, its not an issue for me at all but he last two people i've spoken to seem to think they have bought season tickets and paid in full.
1 guy is at all home games and the other i see at most games, both stressed they had bought and paid for a season ticket at £100.
Now they may both be stupid i don't know but when i explained they were having none of it.

I must admit, unless the wording in the article on the website has been changed in the meantime, I can't see what the issue is here. You pay your 100 quid as a down payment "in full" to subscribe to the offer. If the target is reached, you get your season ticket for 100 quid. If not, you can either pay the extra 75 or get your money back. I'm no legal boffin, mind, so there may be some issue with the term "in full" that I'm not aware of. As a layman, though, the interpretation appears straightforward.

Don't know if its changed or not and like i've said i'm not confused but other seem to be a bit unsure and thats why i've questioned it.

If T's&C's are on the web site, they are elusive. They may be right at the end of the buying process...
I guess that if the target is not met, your 2 people will be asking for their money back - taking this down the "legal" route is not an option - the first solicitors letter will cost you more than the ST itself!
I would be fairly confident that both AG and the Club, know their legal position exactly. It doesn't strike me as the kind of error AG would make.

| Quote: Sesquipedalian "There was no reason that the ticket offer couldn't have run until 31st January, that would have given those who signed up in August a full six months to find £100.
You could have joined the scheme at any time between Aug & Jan on the understanding that it had to be paid by equal monthly payments so had you joined in Oct you would make 4 equal monthly payments of £25, Nov 3 equal payments of £33.33 and so on.
Sandwiching the offer into a six week period that falls between Summer holidays, back to school and Christmas while also expecting fans to pay for the last few games of the 2011 season was poor planning of a very good offer.'"
If they hadn't time limited the offer then how many do you think would have been sold so far? A lot less than we have, that's for sure.
Most people will hang on as long as possible before buying which then means the club fail to get their hands on the money when they most need it.
If we wait until January before finding how much we've got available to spend on players, who do you think we will find to sign? The club needs the money now so they can plan properly for next season, not just guess and get it wrong. The idea is to make the club more sustainable and risking money they might not get isn't the way to do that is it??

| Don't know what this is all about, we will get 2500 takers
We aren't too far away, just one last push (sounds like overheard in the maternity suite)
Keep the faith, this time next week all this 'worry' will be irrelevant.

Further than Fordy, this the EARLY BIRD OFFER.
It's the deal you get by stumping up your cash early, for the very reasons you gave.
If certain posters want to but theirs in January, i.e. not early, they can. They will just have to pay more.
Some people seem not to grasp that.
