If we win tonight it will be a fantastic achievement. Kendal has been given this game for one reason only and that is to make sure his team wins. I reckon his involvement is worth around 18pts start for Huddersfield.
The guy has no morals when it comes to reffing the club he loves. He did us big style at their place. He made sure they won away at Leeds and he will try his hardest to rig the game for them tonight.

Tonights game is our last "easy" fixture, with the exception of Widnes away.
Despite our lofty position on the SL ladder, 5th is just mad

, we are only just above Wigan and Saints (both of whom we would expect to improve towards the end of the season and with: Wigan, Salford, Leeds, Hull, Wire, Cas and Saints to come, a drop in form could see us struggle.

I aint counting any chickens until we're mathematically safe.
However, if we can start to mix it with the big boys, a top 4 spot is possible.

I don't think it's confidence, it's a statement of fact!

Realistically, only 2 teams can pull us in: Hudds and Catalan.

If we win tonight, we'd be 4 wins better than Huddersfield and Catalan (assuming Salford beat them tonight). Even if they win each win the other bank holiday game (postponed in Huddserfield's case), out of the remaining seven games, they'd have to win four to overtake us if we don't win another match all season, and by points that claw back points difference. But we are unlikely to go seven games without a win at all.

Can either of them do it? I doubt it. It's just too much.

Tonight could make us a team that is unlikely to drop out. Too many teams below us.

And in reply to the last couple of posts above. The RFL are also aware of our 'unlikely' league position and that is exactly why Kendal has been given this game.

I'm always a bit skeptical about claims that refs are a bit biased towards one team or another, I think on the whole they're either having a mare or decent for both sides equally.
Can't make either game this b/h, I'm driving to Cornwall for a week in a couple of hours, so I'm hoping there'll be some balanced sensible appraisals of the refs performance tomorrow.
In all honesty, I don't think Shudds can win this game whoever is on the field, but....we'll see..

Indeed, we will lose games even ones we are favourites to win.

To all the drama queens one here (you know who you are) show some dignity should we loose - it happens - it's not the end of the world.

It's the perfect senario, the RFL want to get rid of Wakefield from SL so with 9 games left they decide to hatch a plot with the youngest SL referee to make sure we lose because he was on the books at shudds and left because he wasn't good enough, will he be in charge of the other 8 games or will they direct some of the other refs to conspire our downfall.

Found a way to win in the midst of some mystifying refereeing and against a Huddersfield team who were pretty quick at everything (apart from getting off the man at the PTB!)

I thought you were exaggerating for effect - now I think you underplayed it.

If the RFL had payed the linesmen off as well we'd have lost that.

Hudds try second half - I was right in front of it and I don't think he grounded it.

Thought our bench was much stronger than their's which made a big difference at the end of the first half as they were looking like they could run away with it. Sign of a good side that we can win when pretty much every 50/50 (and some just blatantly wrong decisions) went against us.

Their 3rd try must have been at least 5m forward Pass, Mamo was falling over in the tackle when he through it, amazing refereeing not to mention the "dragging in to touch" in the last minute

There were so many I forgot that absolute shocker.

A very gutsy win tonight, very gutsy.
Kendal was awful and didn't have very good control of the game.
There was stuff going on in front of him which he preferred to talk to his assistants about (which was a good thing on a couple of occasions) but, call it paranoia if you like, this guy looked to be trying very, very hard to get Shudds over the finish line.
Amazing conversion from Williams to secure the win and I'm sorry for doubting the lad.
There was massive pressure on that one ant he caught it as clean as you like.

Time to start looking up the league and see what happens over the next few weeks.

Just to add that, Shudds were pretty solid as well, a pretty basic game plan but they made very few errors, well at least according to the man in the middle

Thought Kendall was lenient towards us last week, totally flipped today

So pleased we won so I can say this without it sounded too much like sour grapes but that was one of the most one-sided, biased refereeing displays I have seen in many a year.
Forward passes, knock-ons that were not given one way but were the other, at least 5 blatant obstructions that Hudds got away with (on 2 of them the Hudds players even gave themselves up and then looked to the ref and saw he hadn't blown so they carried on), the dragging into touch penalty, the quick play of the ballat the restart from Gaskell where he never tapped it, just ran straight out..... and countless other decisions.
Well stuff you Kendall, even with your cheating your beloved Huddersfield couldn't beat us.

I'd never accuse a ref of being bias but that performance was the definition of incompetence. He's not fit for purpose.

Incompetence is one thing.
Biased is what we saw tonight.
