| Who knows, our gates might go up, travelling fans are more likely to.. er.. travel if they know they will have cover and a decent view.
Trinity fans might be surprised by how tidy the Tetleys stadium is and a smaller capacity ground might generate a bigger atmosphere.

| Well if all the talks are done and we've ended up with nothing lets get all the truth out there from when the council pulled the plug on thornes park community stadium and introduced us to York court to NOW. Get it all out in the open don't care who we upset gets some skulls cracked and move on. When we all know what's happening and what gone on we should all stick together in support of sports facilities for our City and Club.

Man I thought I was fairly optimistic but even if say all that was to happen, how do we get around the 5100 capacity.Just looking, we've averaged 5034 this season, obviously some below that & some higher. No doubt it's a tidy little stadium but they also have uncovered terracing at their East Stand. Maybe we can move our Northstand roof over there, which would work with alterations.

| We were given the opportunity to buy the ground, did we even bid. I would remind you that we had every intention of leaving belle Vue last season so all of this would have happened anyway.
I have never read so many posts blaming everybody, Box, Yorkcourt, Rodney Walker, Ted Richardson even the people of Agbrigg. We have over the years tried to exist on the minimum amount of investment which has resulted in the ground now being beyond economical repair. This was not down to Box, Yorkcourt or even Rodney Walker it was down to us and now we face as supporters the possibility of leaving Wakefield with no safety net for a return.
I still cannot understand why we are still kept in the dark, what can be so sensitive that to tell the supporters could harm its advancement.
I fear if we move to Dewsbury we will have reached the point of no return and how many supporters will follow. I wish some of you would realise it's not the distance but the principal of leaving Belle Vue and the history that goes with it.

| Weren't we going to leave BV last season due to the rent on the ground SP?
MC called their bluff and got a good deal for the club but BOI obviously thought that the money they were now getting wasn't worth it and decided to cut and run?
As for move to Dewsbury, I would rather do that than go to Newmarket.

| So what was it 6 years ago, YorkCourt got the go ahead firstly by WMDC planning, then also by the SofS to build their project, only to completely backtrack and pull everyone's pants down and yet the Council did absolutely nothing when it was in their power to do so.But yet you think they shouldn't take any blame.
How do think the majority of stadiums get built, especially Rugby League ones, It's either through the Yorkcourt way lol, same as Castleford are getting there's done, or by a sympathetic Council, or having a Football club to share with.
By the way without Ted selling the Stadium on the sly we wouldn't be having this conversation would we, also he owned the club for years so was part of the process in the stadium becoming an eye sore, so why shouldn't he also get in the neck. It's amazing no one except those running the club now are at fault and the supporters are to blame. What could us supporters do and unless MC has hundreds of thousands of pounds to buy it back, plus even more to develop it what do you expect him to do? Do you think he's got a spare million or more knocking around.
The fact is we haven't owned the ground for years and this was always going to come to ahead. Glover tarted the place up a bit and put a rood on the Northstand but still it was money spent on a ground we didn't own and even at that time Newmarket looked like it was going to happen.

Why would you of? especially when you take in the bigger picture. At Newmarket we were not only supposed to get a modern purpose built stadium, but also our own training grounds inside and out that would have set us up for the future and also enabled the rest of the Community to use, which we obviously lack. At Dewsbury we're renting a small stadium, that's it. Obviously Newmarket is dead but if when it started you were offered a new stadium etc at Newmaket or renting Dewsbury's I'd have been dumb struck if anyone said rent Dewsbury's.

Honestly what more do you need to know?
We've been roundly stitched up by Peter Box and York Court Properties, Newmarket was never ever on the agenda so forget that because it was nothing more than a mechanism to release the land from green belt.
We don't own Belle Vue so why would anyone spend hundreds of thousands let alone millions of pounds tarting it up, and who's got that sort of money anyway.
When the new developer starts building there will be virtually no access to the stadium and even less parking. When the building works done the developer will turn his full attention to knocking down our stadium and building houses on it, Box will wave the Planning Permission through with a smile on his face.
So come on fellas, what's your solution, where should we play, what can we do?
The day Ted Richardson sold the land to Tillion (himself) and then screwed the Bank of Ireland he nigh on signed the death certificate for Wakefield Trinity.'"
This. Sadly.

Although Sky money practically covers the Cap, that's the other big worry. Will we be spending less on players than we currently are, maybe not so much next season but seasons ahead (that's if we're still in SL in 201icon_cool.gif. Conversely will a move to say Dewsbury cost us less rent than staying at Belle Vue. Also are the RFL going to be cool for a SL team playing out of a stadium of 5000 or whatever it is. Unless there's some cunning plan to expand it but then you run into who's gonna pay for the thing again. Don't envy MC one bit, seems a complete minefield.'"
For information, sky money does not cover the cap. We get 1.495 million from sky. Cap is 1.825. We spend 1.7 million. Renovating BV can only come from one place. First team budget. Which would make us even less competitive!

Jon, it would be interesting to know where you feel we came unstuck?
Was it a previous chairman selling the ground to himself then mortgaging it and it being repossessed. The clubs only true asset!
Was it a private developer getting over 100 acres of green belt land lifted out of green belt for industrial development, on the back of promising a community stadium for the citizens of Wakefield, and then reneging on that part?
Your views are of genuine interest

| I think people are trying to convince themselves a move to Dewsbury is a good thing. It isn't. Sadly it seems there we're left with little option due to Michael Carter not wanting to take on the liability of BV, which of course is his prerogative.
The club have been shafted big time, and yes fault lay at the feet of the incumbents of the recent past but it doesn't change the fact the officials of this district have let their paymasters down badly.
It will be a sad day when the club leave Wakefield, and I'm not sure it will survive a season of 27 away games. If we drop down next year we will have no hope of getting back up as no doubt part time RL beckons. All I can see from then on is extinction.

| I've said previously that a couple of years at Dewsbury but with a cast iron plan to move back to Wakefield at the end of that period into a new or refurbished stadium wouldn't be the end of the world. But to leave the city with nothing set in stone regarding our return would be the beginning of the end for this club as i fear it would drag on and on. I'm sure there would be a novelty factor for the first year and a decent amount of the season ticket holders would renew but that would soon wear off and i can see terminal decline following. A mix of incompetent club custodians, an unsuportive council with a Castleford bias and worst of all a less than honest developer has screwed us into the ground.

No, I'm not trying to convince myself that Dewsbury is a good thing but I do know that in our predicament it's the best thing.
The RFL will not allow us a dispensation to play at Belle Vue any more, we do not own the ground. There's no guarantee that if we spent a million on it to satisfy the RFL that the landlord won't serve us a notice to quit anyway. In those circumstances who in their right mind would throw our already limited finances up against a wall fixing up a money pit.
I am as emotionally attached to Belle Vue as anyone and I'm filthy over the fraud, deceit and corruption that's put us in this situation but I can't see a way out other than to move us to Dewsbury and continue the fight from there.
What we've all got to do is 'out' Peter Box and his gang of bandits.

| Like above I'm happy with Dewsbury aslong as its short term the grounds just about in Wakefield and probably quicker for me to get to than Belle Vue. I think the fall out from this is we will get some land elsewhere in Wakefield.
