The timing may be a coincidence but yes I do think so or why invest mid season because if you want to try to guarantee SL you would do so at the start. The only thing that changed was the official announcement he was leaving.

This does not refer to just contributors to Facebook but anyone who you consider just attack the incumbents. I like to think of it being free thinking and not one who believes what ever rubbish they tell you.
I hope this explains why i replied to you or is it necessary to dumb it down more for clarification.

Ellis sponsorship announced 9 June.

So no correlation between them at all.

The facts are that until we received the additional investment from the new sponsor we were cascading towards relegation. The current incumbents were clearly out of ideas after trying the two week player loans. It was only the possible new owner who gave us a chance to survive, the incumbents without him would have just seen the season fizzle out.

Ok I did wander a little onto the band of negative posters on here, who seemingly like to bash the club owners at every opportunity, sometimes with unjustified personal attacks, hiding behind their anonymity.
Frankly, it gets boring reading the childish attacks on two particular men who have acted with the clubs best interest at heart. Ok, they haven't always got it right, as I've commented on previously, but I'm extremely proud of what they have, and are achieving for our club.
If you don't like my comments then tough, they are based on free thinking.

I guess they were protecting you from yourself, unfortunately I was the one trying to wean you away from the influence of the club, it’s still a work in progress.

It may well be the case that the new owner is waiting to see whether they are investing in a SL club or a Championship club as there would likely be a very different price tag and it's not unreasonable to think that the "investment" made this season would have to be taken into account - it would be strange to have a new buyer pumping in "sponsorship" to ensure that they were buying a "better product".
However, we should levee this to the parties involved.
Despite the sniping and criticisms, everyone on here wants the best for Wakefield Trinity and despite the abysmal first half of the season, the club is moving in the right direction.
