| i dont think anyone is disputing anybodys talent and certainly not negatively, the op certainly wasnt about any individual although some might percieve it that way,for what its worth both the lads at crigg and east hull are fantastic players and have big futures in the game if they continue there progression,i wouldnt mind seeing them in the same yorkshire side in a few years time.
anyway back to the rugby and its stanley up next for us this week, with a couple of key players set to figure we can hopefully turn the corner and get the ball rolling although stanley will be no pushovers has shown with there win at lock lane the other week.

Just for the record, the Crig win at Eastmoor, where to quote Mutley ‘The lads went on to spank Eastmoor all over the park, ended 20-18 to Crig
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story Mutley!!!!'"
right just started reading these so better start with you , sorry must be getting confused with the 50plus score at crigg , sorry for any offence . was not intended . what it was meant to portray was it was the day that the crigg lads stood up with out the big 2 and another major play maker and after having a lad sent off still won against all odds.
dont let the name Mutts antagonize your response , strange to make up a new user to have a pop.
best of luck for this season , i for one fully support your brave decision and hope that you can soon recruit , i want as many strong "wakefield" teams as possible . can we at least agree on this forget the past and move on?

this post as more substance in it than a lot of the others , including mine . i find it shameful and i have been there when one of my teams have done this . you dont know where to put your self .

| Quote ="Basil Fawlty"Taken out of context Mutts - my response to Rob was regarding 'big lad syndrome'. No slurr on JD our CT or anyone else. But at the end of the day when players tend to level out size wise so do results. Make hay whilst you can that's what I say!
Remember the commentator on the YC vid who said Easts looked much smaller than Crigg???
Most teams have strike players - they are the lads that always want the ball and the ones their team mates always want to give it too - but there comes a time when their team mates want to keep it for themselves or have plenty of other options!!!
Till then enjoy - and good luck!'"
and yet all talk leading up from the 2 cas coaches was the watch "one kid" in your team .
utter crap.
on the final day the crigg lads from 1-17 were prepared to tackle your "strike player" and dare i say the other strike players you sell yourself short russ . The only reason Crigg did not carry on stream rolling you is because at 12 nil down your lads from 1-17 started to tackle every thing that wore black and yellow now then you work out who the main threat is in a team like that and a team like crigg it so obvious .

| Quote ="braytontiger"has i said at the start dont take it out of context, the whole post was about views on whether we should be following the aussies and plaing weight and height rather than age groups.
i dont have a problem with big players or little players,in my team we have 1 player that weighs 5 stone and others that weigh 12 stone it cant surely be right that they are expected to play and compete with such handicaps they cant move down a couple of years to play against kids there own size.
mutts has for your one man team well crigglestone aren't a one man team you have some wonderful players and a great team spirit but you also have a player that's beyond belief who to be quite frank frightens the living daylights out of teams and can literally score when ever he chooses,9 tries in the opening 2 games says it all im sure there will have been plenty more good performances from the other players too but he his the edge that makes your lot better than the rest at the moment, what would you say the said player is at 12 years of age 6ft tall and broad with it who does 100 metres in around 12 seconds well when your that size running at 5ft tall players who weigh around 8-9 stone who cant run half has quick and then you can see its a complete mismatch "see what im getting at" what it not do the player more good playing with and against players the same size in the long run.'"
but you see here's the main point , does he play the best rugby? in the team or take the better of the chances provided to him . I think the East Leeds coach may differ his tries were created by stunning h/b play play , great off loads and some straight forward hard knocking running from the the pack . JD took the ball from the 20 out and scored , ever seen a lad score a 60 meter try and get b@@@@@ed for not running the channel?
A lot is said about the biggest lad blah blah blah so flip the coin , lets lot at a player i admire greatly in the cas side , Big lad to look at him inflexibility steady 5 metre run prop. Give him the ball and WOW! . In defense he can make a full back blush as runs back.
Lets flip the coin the coin again. No one ever comes on here talking about the under 12s saying how the Crigg number 7 is the smallest most slightest built player they have seen in the group yet he will knock any one on their butt . i wonder why this is ? is this a little taboo that a lad in high school who can not get any uniform to fit as its all to big can take any star player and fair n square tackle below waist and put them down? maybe its because this lads been knocking JD down for fun in training or maybe its because Criggs real "MAIN MAN" as installed the belief in them .
rugby league is so much % physique
so much % toughness
so much % ability
so much % brains
and of course so much % confidence
the all blacks weep confidence nowadays , cocky yes but it wins matches and also means the lads like big J and little J both go into the game with the same metal strength.
this is down to our top guy and hes there at every match

| This has become really boring and more than a little bit sad.
One side, Obsessive about something they have no influence on (a player from another team). The other side increadably defensive about comments on the size of a player on ‘their’ team.
The more I think about it the stranger in seems.

| Sandal Spartans U13's vs Hunslet Warriors is postponed, due to an injury crisis at the Spartans; we're like Cas at the minute, with our forwards dropping like flies.
We found out after the Methley game last week that one of our props played the whole game with two broken fingers; freak accident catching a ball during the warm-up, and the tough little bleeder kept it to himself and played the match with a bit of strapping on.

That's commitment for you, at U13 level.
Are Sandal Saracens a new club? Sounds like they've got a pretty decent set up down there, with Richard involved in the coaching too. Wish I were back in Wakey, and they had an U4's (not for me obviously, although i may behave like that sometimes...).

I m afraid im the barer off very very very Bad news with regards 2 Crigglestone players that has devastated the tiny ex mining village and the surrounding areas as far wide , and to some extent even parts of Rotherham are reeling in shock.
No official comment as yet been made by any official from the club , nor any of the coaching staff but the the coaching assistant who is normally of the 12s who is normally very jolly and always ready for a go on his at home D.J. Giant Karaoke system could just manage to shrug his shoulders , sniffle and go for a beer .
Whilst no officail statement as yet been made the big rumour is that at least two players have a poorly belly and that the effect of this will mean that come kick off time on Saturday it may well be that Crigg players are running round scatting their heads with all circling the ball shouting marimba arumba ruba marimba arumba ruba"

Yes mate, we are a new club and though we've only been formed a couple of weeks there's been an immense amount of work done, things achieved and huge progress made.
The facilities are fantastic, we've got a floodlit pitch, 3G, 2x5 a side area and all sorts of other training areas. The dressing rooms can hold up to 86 players at the same time, we've got an equaly big, separate female changing room and shower area. The clubhouse is very welcoming, warm and well appointed and doesn't charge ridiculous amounts. We have free use of a huge function room for fundraising, presentation nights and other events (watch this space WJL).
We've established club links with Ossett Academy & Outwood Grange (over 5,000 pupils between them). We are in tals to bring a girls team and an U12s, we have ambitions to grow the number of age groups to as many as possible.
We've had meetings with Trinity, the RFL and a number of Grant organisations and plans are taking shape for future developments.
Our website www.pitchero.com/clubs/sandalspartans is now ranked 30th after just 11 days of being live. We have secured sponsors which now number into double figures.
There's loads more, we are ambitious, driven and capable so the opportunities are endless.
Most importantly we have a development philosophy that we will enforce uniformly throughout the club and all age groups.
We want to win but not at the expense of the following:
Athletic Development
Rugby League Development
Personal Development
Respect, Reputation & Integrity
Lofty goals, some might say naive but were adamant that we'll do things better and strive to create a club that produces quality players who are in possession of the key skills of the game as early as is possible. If opportunities to play at a higher standard become available to our players we are committed to ensuring that they will not be let down by a culture of poor coaching and pot hunting.

As for the rest... sounds fantastic! Good luck! I've no choice over here but to send my lad to a union club, but at that age, with no contact stuff, what harm can it do? If we return to Wakey in the next 10 years, I hope you and Bren will still be there, and I'll send him down.
