I'm 5.11 and he's a fair bit taller than me so I'd guess 6.2 sounds right.
He's also got a mahoosive head so I would imagine he could fill out well as he also looked pretty slight for a front rower.
By the time he's got a couple more years on him he could well be a very different shape and fit the front rowers bill very well.

This is exactly right. I think vasty is taking it as people saying Trout will never be a prop, however people label him as S/R because he isnt ready for that role yet. As you say, time will tell.
As I mentioned in another topic where Trouty was discussed, forcing him down the prop role now, because thats all he has ever been will ruin him.
For the meantime, Trout will do very well as WTW Second Row Forward. Come a few years he may develop into WTW Prop Forward.
Good luck to him, because I rate him highly as a player. Lets hope we get to see how far he can develop and is with us for years to come.

| Been a lot of cracking players start out in one position and ended up elsewhere in the side after filling out.Brian Lockwood started out scrum half and soon filled out and ended up prop even though he wasnt the biggest prop.Did Bill Ashurst not start out as a centre and he ended up second row. Some of our past great ball playing forwards have started out in the backs so like wise if trout fills out a bit more no reason why he could not move to prop.At the moment I see him as S/R but with a bit more game time and filling out who knows.

| Nigel Bell went the other way, started as a scrum half and ended up playing prop at times. Not the biggest or heaviest prop but a heart as big as a bucket more than compensated.

| History seems to say that if we could hang on to them they'll end up being a prop whatever their position when they sign.

he was a backrower who moved into the centres/standoff when we were short IIRC, he then reverted to his original position after he left us.

He certainly said that his prefered position was in the 2nd row, even though we played him at centre and he was right, one of the best in the sport.
Never quite forgave him for leaving, but one hell of a player !

| Ellis started as a centre I seem to recall when he made his debut at Wakefield.
Not long after I think he moved to Sr and loose.
