Quote Spongebob="Spongebob"I say again - what about Ted ?
Could of swallowed his pride and sold up a long time ago to =#FF0000someone with money - where could we be now ?'"
And your suggestion is who exactly???
Given that investing in the club can't give the sort of returns that normal business investment would be expected to generate, anyone buying Ted out would need to be a fan who doesn't expect much (if any) financial return on their investment.
IMO anyone buying the club would be waving goodbye to the best part of a million quid straight away to buy up the shares that have been issued and get the business on a sound footing. That's before they do anything to attract new players (who would need to be "big names" to help build crowds). There would also be the need to put additional cash into the business as and when needed.
If we work on the assumption that we're looking for someone prepared to set aside up to £2m over the course of the first few years of their investment and that they probably can't expect to get a return on that money, we really need someone who has a hell of a lot of money going spare.
Out of a core support of around 5000, I think we'd be very lucky to have 1 person with that sort of cash available to them..........unless of course last week's Euromillions winner is a Wakey fan!!!!
