I have a serious question. As it seems likely that the club are going to move to Barnsley and indeed this is what was voted for last night, why does the club not cash in on Belle vue now? As you know I am not a believer in Newmarket but other seem confident and what ever the future holds it would seem that at some point it will be away from Belle vue. So why not got to Barnsley early releasing the money for Belle vue or at the very least borrow the money that is needed against the money owed on Belle vue?

Fair enough, can you also clear up what would happen to Belle vue if you went into administration. Would it be used to pay of creditors? I say this because surely it would be better to be looking at renting with 1.4
million in bank than nothing.

Depends what you want. If you want SL, well, you have to fund a hell of a load of stuff, starting with a new stadium. Then you have to hope that the people who run the whole gaff will buy your proposal. Then you have to ensure you have the funds to run the whole thing....

Alternatively, you accept the drop. You say "we are Trin", let the present owners deal with the debt, form a supporters' trust from ground zero, and show the rest of the friggin world that we are Wakefield, we are proud, we have our history, and we won't be moved. It may be a waste of time, but at least it'll be fun.

I've had my cheque book out since yesterday and yet, not a whisper from the club about the details of this share offering - typically amateurish.

If anyone is or was considering buying the club, think on this; NM is now a distant dream thanks to the PI and as such, we are absolutely not getting a franchise. We're skint and desperate and the current BoD are hostages of the clubs debts and liabilities. So - do you buy WTWRFC now for £500k and take on all the historic debts and current liabilities AND be lumbered with TUPE requirements for all the staff, whilst knowing all the while that you're going to lose your franchise in 2012 and see your already weak revenue streams trickle away as a result? OR - do you let it go into administration and have the debts written off, rely on the administrators to release some of the surplus staff and then buy it from them as a lean, mean, ready for the Championship machine, for considerably less than £500k?

I know which I'd do; would be no bad thing either in my view - time to rebuild from the bottom up, and that's not possible with the bent cabal that runs SL constantly breathing down your neck.

So did i untill last week, it seems that was just a one off in our first season in SL.

Al, I think it was to guarantee that we would complete the season after the Pearman fiasco following the CVA and not our first season -thats when we did not get SL money.

Sorry,but that sentence says everything that is wrong and has been wrong with Wakefield for years.
It would take all of 30 seconds to establish the credentials of a director.
Obviously they have not learned from past mistakes when checking the credentials of potential investors.

I approached ted after the meeting and suggested he renegotiate the sale of belle vue at a slightly cheaper price if we could have a cash advance from the buyer of 350,000. Got a negative response and was told the money wouldn't come through in time anyway. Seems a logical solution to me.

The guy in question is our major sponsor and has been seen by many over the years as the future Messiah. He has clearly found a way around the rules - but I would be extremely worried if he were to gain control of our club - his trading history is not good, although he is currently doing well.

I had dealings(securing some of my employers assets) with the club when it went into CVA and was totally dumbfounded then at how incompetent the club were,in particualr with regards due dilligence.It was one of the most unprofessionally operated businesses i have ever dealt with.

Nothing has changed 10 years on.
Certain board members should hang their heads in shame at the way they have run Wakefield.
Some people will back Ted whatever,im afraid for me his legacy for Wakefield will be that years of mismangement of the club with him in control has ultimately led/will lead to us ceasing to exist!!!!!

All this talk of 'sugar daddies' - most sporting clubs have one, it just seems that ours is skint. The only thing that separates Davy from Ted is Davy still has cash in the bank.

As for making people redundant when/if a new BoD took over, if the club desperately needs this £500k, why haven't cuts been made within the club?
