Would guess at Brough and Blanch being the two outs who are in. Out of the "ins" would hope it was Broughton who wasn't coming (not that I have anything against him but would prefer the other two). I was under the impression Tronc had already signed - hope so, he is the main one on the list that I would want for next year.

Kear did go on record just after his injury and say that he would defiantly be offered a new contract. I don't know if anything has happened to change them circumstances.

An offer been put on the table by all accounts. Let's hope he stays as IMO he is our best winger by some way and amongst the best in the league

That is possible. The irony is that, as a 'smaller' club, we sometimes have to pay more to keep hold of our players.

Don't think Pitts is going for the money tbh - but then I don't think he's making the right decision at this stage in his career. He could well find himself playing reserve grade for longer - or even end up out on loan somewhere. Still - his choice!

Totally agree with you re JD & don't mind taking the flak for that opinion without a bullet proof vest. I'm not sure his body will take another season & even if it could I wouldn't have him as captain.

Don't get me wrong - I think he's an excellent figurehead at the club, but I don't think he's got the spare mental energy to encourage the rest of the team during the match. Just look at how Sinfield was shouting at the Leeds players on Friday night after they conceded - even though they already had a game winning lead. I can't remember the last time JD did anything like that.

We do seem to be balancing the books at the mo ... If your not selected often you seem to go on loan - guess George wont be far off... You can only get rid of so many... It looks like the club want to secure the services of Fergusson and are prepared to off load Pitts and Bibb in the process which is a shame really... Drew looks to be leaving end of season possibly back to OZ and i think Martin is leaving too... We need to keep Brough - a class act... Atkins will give us another season then leave... Newton and Cronc look like done deals which overall im happy with but we do need a quality centre for me and a STAND OFF !!

sorry it was off topic and all that but i dont really see what this sort of thread brings
for gods sake most players are trying to secure the best living they can over a short career and to be honest it needs to sustain them in many cases over the rest of their lives.

frankly the best off are those who move around, but wee as a club do well out of that sometimes
and i really believe we have a good set of people negotiating whats best for wtrlfc baring in mind the resouces we have, we worked hard for stos we got him, im pleased.

we get tronc im delighted, and if some have to go so be it.

its just economic reality.........id hate to see sam obst go but i understand why he would and why we would let him. any nrl1 club with aspirations to a franchise would pay him more than we could!

you are joking, are you saying once they have finished playing that they couldn't do anything else, I know some take some nasty knocks but even then they choose to do the sport with open eyes and most take the time to prepare for after they finish

no snowie im saying in most cases it will be their biggest wage packet so they will either need to secure as much as they can or take a drop in lifestyle, the old buy a pub with my benefit and live on my laurels is long since gone.

and yes they choose it with open eyes, but its at best a 15 year career with a high risk of injury, thats why we respect them.
one tackle and it could be all gone.

i just dont blame any rl player for chasing cash, having said that i will always respect the ones that have been loyal to my club ie people like JD
they raise themsleves above the average fans respect level to oooh bloody legend status.
