| ii guess that open shares not held on to by the current incombands would have brought in investment.
iwas it. the fear of losing control ?and indeed would i think made any takover easier.
who invests in something that then they have no control of the direction of their investment ?
point i make is different share issue would have diluted current owners.
motive has always got to be club first and this is always seen by actions

So I don't know the details of this one but I've worked in big businesses all my life and takeovers take a long time.
In this case the process is that the two parties agree terms, then do due diligence on each other, then finalise terms then do the transfer of shares etc.
Due diligence includes financial checks, both personal and business, checks on the current state of the club accounts and forecasts, understanding RFL rules and what limitations there are and in our case the building of the stand and the liabilities involved.
It's just going to take a long time.
Plus the fact, Ellis has put some money in to help us survive. Right now, him taking over will not improve it more before the end of the season. They can take their time now.
Minards needs to be in place to run the club while all this is going on so it doesn't just fall over.

and when all the paper work has been finalised ie deal done, they announce it when they want.
There are many done deals regarding players and they haven't been announced yet.

| We’ve a fight on for our very survival in super league still very much on ,if people hadn’t already noticed ,yet still choose to bash and discredit the club on every occasion, how these are fans of the club ill never know .3 Days since our superb win against huge spending opposition and social media has started up against bashing the directors of the club , specifically Minards . I suggest that if these plonkers put as much effort and energy into actually supporting the club instead of sowing seeds of discontent at every opportunity we may not have been in this position . Here’s the thing , no amount of hearsay or rumours will make the takeover happen any quicker , it will be finalised when it’s ready and not an hr before . Surely our short term survival is paramount at this time rather than the toing and froing of emails and the like from solicitors/lawyers on the take over . Anybody thought that our precarious position may just be one of the reasons for the supposed delays in the take over ? , Surely a super league club is worth more that a championship club to a perspective buyer .

I get that MC can get under some peoples skin… but I do not understand the vendetta against JM… the simple fact that he - almost single handedly - achieved an outcome that has seen the facilities at the club being improved substantially… and without which, a future as a super league club… AND the ability to attract new investment would be totally impossible.
The destructive negativity of some people baffles me…the subversive and vindictive nature of some of the behaviour is unfathomable… the deep seated hatred in some of the language is unforgivable. I cannot believe that these individuals have the best interests of the club or the community at heart.
It’s endemic and chronic… to the point of sickness!!!

| I think the top and bottom line, is that fans are concerned about the clubs long term future, bearing in mind when it was first mentioned back in early June and also by Michael Carter in the Trinity Times, both with a 4 week timeframe, maybe that was a bit optimistic.
I'm a big believer in under promise, over deliver.
What I will say, is I saw some posts last night, and they weren't all vile like some can be.
If this does fall through, for the reasons being said, then there will be fans left with egg on their face, both on here and RWB Army who have been blinkered into believing that everything is ok.

| Lets be right here, no takeover is going to be fully in the public domain and it absolutely shouldn't be.
The bottom line is that if/when there is news to be shared, it will be.
In other news, Wakefield AFC staged their first game at BV last night, a 2 - 0 victory.

If you have any proof that any one on the Trinity management team is deliberately blocking the transfer of club ownership, then please provide that proof and prove the majority of supporters have been fooled. If you only have hearsay, then keep that to yourself, you, and a small number of so called fans on here and RWB Facebook are causing unnecessary strife for the club at a time we should all be pulling together.

I went last night. It was pretty good.
The other team really put 10 men behind the ball so it took a while for them to break through but the goals were well taken.
Pitch looked awesome for football.
It finished 2-1.

The most recent takeover of a rugby league club has taken years at Wigan and been conducted mainly outside of the public domain.
The influence in the boardroom of the new owner at Wigan has grown as the takeover neared its conclusion.
Our takeover is in relative terms the blink of an eye compared to the timeline on that one however I think the boardroom influence is similar with the Ellis influence clearly becoming increasingly evident.
My guess is any formal announcement won’t be made until our SL status or otherwise is confirmed.
From a PR point of view it makes a clean break between old and new and also gives the club and history to judge this season.

We [iare[/i talking about the "long term" future of our club here.
Struggling to understand why some on here think the takeover should be/have been completed by date X.
Takeovers do not work like that.
There was no way on this earth or fullers that it would have been completed in four weeks - surprised that MC said that tbh.....
There are many facets to a takeover of any organisation - even small ones.
I am ready and waiting for an [iofficial[/i announcement - either way - then it can be discussed properly and at the correct time then.
But not now.
Really don't get the mentality of some "supporters" of our club who appear to take constant delight in bad mouthing people and the club for doing this in the correct way.
It bolis my p*ss tbh.

Agree I must be one of the biggest fans for been negative about most of the signing we have made and the Coach but pride was put back in the club last Sunday .My take on the take over is, if it was not for MC and JM there would not have been any thing to take over except a crap ground that was not fit for Championship rugby .Remember in there time at the club, they have had to fight there way through ,a guy who owned the ground who the police investigated , a corrupt X Chairman who took away the 106 agreement ,a Wakefild Council, that did not want to get Wakefield a ground .And a so called building firm that had no intention on delivering what the had promised .All I can do is say a big thanks to M C and J M ,because we would have been in the brown stuff without them Time to get behind them and the team

| We should all be grateful to MC and JM for keeping the club afloat and at long last delivering a ground that we can be proud of. I know MC can be a bit abrasive at time with his comments but he and his family have had to put up with so much criticism largely from people who hide behind keyboards. As for the takeover we all want it to be a successful one that will provide stability and hopefully a competitive team so let's be patient. If we were on a 20 losing run which looked likely at one point there would be some urgency regards the takeover but as we look to be in a position to overtake our local rivals in the next few weeks let's concentrate on supporting the team who always say that our support at the game is a real bonus in helping them win. But to be fare to most people on here it's not them that spew bile at MC and JM its the Facebook lot

| I don't do Facebook (I'd personally rather watch paint dry) but I do know the sort of people who post on there hiding behind their keyboards and that's why I personally dislike FB. I know posters are anonymous on here but I don't think we see such vile comments and personal attacks on here because it's policed better than FB, which doesn't seem to be monitored at all.
Anyway, to those cretins who voice their childish, immature attacks on the present owners, has it escaped their notice that huge sums of money seem to have been poured into the club recently? Who has negotiated that? on top of everything else they have done for the club! There again they probably haven't got sufficient brain cells to work that one out.

I think everyone knows that we are in the position we are now is because of the money invested by the new sponsor/owner. I think it is obvious to us without sufficient brain cells to know that without this injection of money the current incumbents would not have been able to fund the recent signings that have changed our fortunes. They have had ten seasons to bring in additional investment without any obvious success
To prove this the incumbents admitted they had wanted to sign Gale before the season started but did not have any money. I only know Carter by reputation but maybe him confirming his departure hastened a new investor to come in now considering the timing. It may be a coincidence but it is also a possibility don’t you think members on Mensa.

Assuming this is correct and it certainly seems that new cash has become available as the takeover "gets closer", why does anyone feel the need to knock MC & JM..
The bottom line here is if the club doesn't generate enough cash and MC & JM are unwilling to throw more of their own money at the club, we have to cut our cloth accordingly, even though this looked like it meant relegation.
However, ultimately there is little choice.
Let's get behind the club and the boys and hope that we escape the drop.
Even for those who have issues with MC / JM, why on earth would anyone want to see Trinity go down and have all the associated uncertainty that comes with that.
As we are now almost in touching distance of surviving the drop (hope I'm not tempting fete) everyone with any allegiance to Trinity should be behind the club and the team.

What is the hold up in announcing him?

I want only the best for the club which is for it to be taken over. I suppose you can believe the recent investment is down to the current incumbents which I suppose it is because one of them has made it clear he is leaving. I believe this is the catalyst for the sponsorship by the possible new owner because investment is something that they have spectacularly failed to do so in the previous 10 years. I believe without this extra money the current incumbents would have overseen our relegation.
We have all endured season after season of struggles and I think we now deserve better I don’t think this indicates a lack of brain cells just a recognition of the incumbents on field failures. I guess the expression “none so blind as those that will not see” is still applicable for some of our Mensa members.

Who is he?'"
He is Matthew Ellis. Owner of DIY Kitchens.
He's a long time Trinity fan and has shed loads if money.
Our board and Ellis (or his team) have agreed in principle to transfer ownership of the shares. Carter and Minards have publicly said they don't want money for shares or payment for their loan.
There is a process to go through called Due Dilligence where both parties and their legal teams go through each others financials and the things agreed in that original agreement in principle to make sure Ellis is fit and proper to take over and the club is in the financial and legal position it says its in, so that neither side is caught out in the deal.
That due diligence can take a long time.
I think MC made a mistake implying it could be done quickly in 4 weeks which has then set the rumours going.
In the mean time, Minards and Ellis negotiated a big sponsorship which allowed us to pay off some players and bring in new to save us from relegation.
That kind of stops things going wrong while they are still talking.

I guess the expression “none so blind as those that will not see” is still applicable for some of our Mensa members.'"
Do you mean you think Ellis only gave his money because Carter is leaving? I'm pretty certain that isn't true. Especially as Carter is now the one spending it until they sign papers.
The sponsorship is to protect the club so that Ellis takes over a super league club not a championship one.
It's clear Wakefield need further investment to move forward. Everybody agrees that. The current board have said that for a long time.
