Quote: sandaltrinityfan "Like many on here I'm a keen supporter, season ticket holder, 1873 member etc, and have been through thick and thin for many years.
I don't expect anything for nothing. I fully appreciate we are at the mercy of others for the provision of anything in the way of NM or BV.
All that said, respect costs nothing and it would cost nothing to officially feed the genuine supporters some information as to what has gone wrong here, have the trust, WMDC, the SOS, the club been hoodwinked? Surely not but you cannot blame people for thinking such.
Why all the secrecy? it just brasses me off frankly I've seen so much of it I really feel the supporters of this great club deserve better. Quite frankly I really feel like saying stuff it I'll look elsewhere for entertainment!'"

Regardless of who would own a "re-vamped Belle Vue", it would still be for the benefit of Wakefield Trinity (plus others of course) and the club should at least be putting forward their point of view or vision for the future of the club.
Although nothing has yet been decided, there are obvious problems with Newmarket and with the many false dawns that the supporters have suffered, not to mention the protests outside the town hall and petitions etc, the club should certainly be making public comment on something so fundamental to the clubs future.
We all know that we are not blessed with personnel, however, MC needs to go public.

'That is why no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party.... So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin':23909.gif

Quote: TRB "The club are of course part of these negotiations, but it is not they who will own the new or re-developed ground, that would be the Trust, as we all agree that this is the best vehicle for obtaining funds.

I am not going to offer any promises, or guarantees, as there have been too many failures, but we have far from given up on what we started, which was to provide a Stadium for Wakefield.

NM was our goal, as we thought it could be delivered (and it isn't a completely closed door just yet), but BV looks more likely.

There have been many ideas and suggestions as to what can be done and I can't say what areas will be done, but we are working on getting the pot of money as big as possible so that as much as possible can be.

It is important to recognise what we can still achieve at NM, as if we can provide a suitable training facility, that will be a massive advance on the nomadic existence of our club in this regard.

The other interesting point is the complete split of supporters over this. Some are distraught, others delighted, others still disappointed but accepting. We always thought that the older the generation the more connected to BV they would feel and that a new stadium would appeal more to younger/ future generations. Assuming we stick with BV, perhaps we can achieve the best of both worlds?'"

Wishing no disrespect, genuinely, when I see your posts on these matters it just becomes a big haze because whatever is written has to be taken with a pinch of salt. The chances of any of it coming to fruition have to be close to zilch. I'm past caring

I can appreciate that and i understand we've heard liitle about NM from the club because its never really been anything to do with them.

No doubt its up in the air but the club must have been involved with talk of redeveloping BV.

Its just so frustrating being in the dark all the time, its only becuase we care.

As disappointed as we might be lets face it if the club said something some would question it others take it as gospel so they have to keep things until something is set in stone.

LOOKING FOR ACCOMMODATION IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA //www.orlandovilla.org.uk:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_22151.jpg

Quote: charlie63wildcat "24 hrs on, it is no better. You and the other mentioned advocates pushed a new stadium. Newmarket was exactly what we needed and some decent planning and promotion could have got fans up there. Belle Vue is not a development option I can ever see happening. We have no money. There is not the space. We have been made fools of by somebody and I feel the hard woking people involved who post on here have been tricked. It is a failure and a fiasco the sadly follows our name like a virus'"

Charlie, what do you want us "advocates" to say.

You say Newmarket "was exactly what we needed". Well I agree with you as does TRB and IA. I and others have spent many hours of our time working towards this aim. We've stood in the precinct getting 15,000 people to sign a petition in favour of the project, gave evidence in support at a Public Inquiry as well as attended too many meetings to count.

Were we pushing for Newmarket ? - you bet your b*lls we were and we were still pushing for it last Wednesday evening when we met to discuss what could be done to push Newmarket forward when the Wakefield Express announced that a decision had been made to re-develop Belle Vue. We did not leak the story, as we were still looking at whether Newmarket could be delivered and we were pretty gobsmacked and brassed off when we heard of the news as some on here.

Do you want us to tell you what has gone wrong, if indeed anything has gone wrong ?

Well we don't bl**dy well know - all we know is that it has now been decided to redevelop Belle Vue and abandon Newmarket. Are wee peed of by this decision - just a bit - after all the time we have put in.

Can we speculate what has gone wrong, again if anything has gone wrong. Well I can have a good shot at it and I might be right but I equally may be wrong and upset what negotiations may come for Belle Vue so I'm sure you'll understand that its best if I keep my big mouth well and truly shut rather than peeing in the wind and speculating.

There are some on here who are happy with the decision to stay at Belle Vue. I'm not, but if the decision has been made then like it or not we, if we care about the Club, have to work towards obtaining the very best deal for the Stadium Trust and The Club. That will involve negotiations with a number of parties and having worked most of my career in Property & Land Development those negotiations are best served in private and not in the public domain.

The situation is simple, people can trust those involved in the project or not but all I can say is those that I know who are involved are as passionate about Wakefield Trinity as anyone who post on here.

One the other hand if anyone would like to take my place then please feel free to do so because I'm happy to stand down and get some sleep at night and not have my wife ranting at me because I'm sloping off to meetings at the drop of a hat or constantly on the phone to TRB.

I know you are sick of hearing this but please be patient, this is proving very difficult.

Sad thing in all this for me personally is i've realised i'm now past caring. I was one who signed that petition, who demonstrated outside the county court, who attended the first day of the PI to show support. We have been played for fools. I now genuinely couldn't care less what happens anymore. I feel for the likes of TRB etc who put their life and soul into trying to make it happen but they've been dumped on from a great height. For me this is the straw that broke that camels back though, i'm out.

I expect us to go down this season and i then expect Belle Vue to be deemed perfectly acceptable for a championship club, which is where we will remain for the foreseeable future. Anybody who thinks bv is going to be getting a major make over is living in cloud cuckoo land i'm afraid.

from what I've heard today this could prove to be the best thing to happen and the most likely to become reality.
Like most fans my first reaction was uh oh! here we go again, we'll end up with a lick of paint and some temporary toilets.

If what those in charge are planning comes off that will not be the case! This will be a near total rebuild of the stadium on all four sides with further plans to tackle the parking issues.

Ask a Wigan fan if they'd rather be at a modern Central Park or the DW, ask a Warrington fan the same about Wilderspool, Hull about the Boulevard! We have an opportunity to stay at our home of over 100 years whilst also enjoying the benefits of a new stadium.

Hold your water until more details come out

Well said The Clan.

Sometimes i wonder why I read these posts and why people post - just doom and bloody gloom.

Come on - wherever it goes there has to be positivity. I've only watched Trin for the last seven/eight years but even i can see that to remain at an improved Belle Vue would be great. My heart goes out to the people who are pushing forward - like the players I hope you dont read the negativity or at the least only take a cursory glance at what some people are saying.

Good luck - onwards and upwards.

Sometimes when you here things rolled out about new this new that, after all the false dawns you just go yeah ok, whatever you say, but sometimes, just sometimes when you hear something from someone it gives you hope that you're not just being fed another line. This, gives me hope, as the poster has a track record of honesty and integrity and hopefully the people that have given him the info treat him with that same respect. Time will tell!
