| Just a question but, assuming that a bid was put in to buy BV (on behalf of the club), who actually put the bid in and was it ever accepted or, have the mosque consortium been successful and nobody wants to tell us.
Also, although BV is now seen as an embarrassment and the RFL no longer want to give us dispensation to play in a "sub standard" stadium.
Would they allow us to play there with some "tarting up" or, are they saying that it will never be fit for purpose ?

The bid to buy BV was submitted by Yorkcourt OR SO THEY SAY !!! because I am lead to believe we only have their word for that, no one has seen it. If you want to believe Yorkcourt its up to you. I would not believe a word they say. The ground is for sale so ask yourself why it has not been bought. Here is my take , there is no money or intention to buy it.

| Well said Jakey. It's hardly 'sloping off ' when we have had the 'gun held to our head'. If people think Carter should invest an enormous sum in renovating the ground , they should put their monies where their mouths are and join him. I could be in for a grand. Anyone else? No I didn't think so.

Don't need loads of parking plenty in City centre, best new RL stadium is Warringtons & St. Helens both close to town centre with little on site parking. It would be a good option if true.

| Quote BOJ04="BOJ04"what about the football stadiums around the area surely they would have better facilities and be more fan friendly? I reckon even say play 4 games next year at each of these - Elland RD, Rothermam,Barnsley,Sheifield.
might even get more people to follow wakey that way.
this stadium thing has been going on since I lived over there in 2001 its a disgrace'"
And the cost of renting those stadiums (even if they wanted us), would be?

| I'm trying to find a way that this could be another gambit by MC - to force the hands of YC; but I can't see how that would work. Instead, it feels like capitulation and a clear indicator that if we move, the fight is over and we've accepted defeat.
I still can't see how WMDC are being allowed to get away with colluding with YCP to renege on the UU; has anyone actually written to the SoS to inform him that his Inspector has been hoodwinked by a tinpot Labour council leader and a small time property developer?!

| FWIW this is my take on a ground move.
Dewsbury is by far and away the best option IMHO.
It's virtually the same distance from the town centre than NM.
It's actually nearer to our main supporter base.
It's already built and is modern compared to BV if a little basic.
Who gives a stuff if it's 500 meters away fro being in WMDC they don't deserve us anyway.
It requires very little spending on it in the short term, maybe a floodlight upgrade and some temp seating at the sides of the main stand. We could possibly move our Exec boxes to the ground to give us more hospitality and office space as one end is still free - not sure what state they are in or how easy this is but if Fev fans can rebuild a whole stand!
Long term plenty of room to upgrade to 10,000 plus.
The issue is not the ground the issue is what terms we go on.
If we go as tenants forget about it, as others say we will wither and die - these deals never work and we will eventually be shown the door. Also no one feels connected to the place if we just rent. We will become nomads and end up a basket case like Oldham.
If however we go fully committed and buy a stake in the stadium then it becomes home and it is secure and we could thrive. I'd say 10% was the minimum but 30% would be better, discounted obviously because of what we will bring - SL RL hopefully.
I'm all for it but it may require us all to dig deep into our pockets to achieve - not a Trinity fans strong point I'm afraid.

I've given in, I'm a big fan of TRB and SWAG but I think they have been totally hoodwinked - I don't think anyone on here could have done better but they SWAG are just fans and decent people and as such we have been out of our depth for a while now IMHO - no point fighting now for anything from the NM debacle it's to late for that and I think MC to his credit has come to see things as they really are. We will have to go it alone and that will take all our efforts and I mean ALL of us.

Sadly, I agree; and that's no criticism of the individuals involved - it's business as usual for a property developer to ride roughshod over the wants and expectations of a local community; they do it all the time. When a council leader is on their side, it's no kind of challenge at all.
They had a planning lawyer, planning experts, the planning committee and their own company solicitor at their disposal - together with years of experience of shafting people to get what they want. The ace up our sleeve was meant to be Rodney Walker, but he appears to have been as much use as a chocolate fireguard. We hold no cards, and seem to be paralysed by a total refusal to do or say anything controversial or difficult that could apply pressure to Box and/or Mackie.
It's now left to MC to salvage something from the ashes - and if that's a ground-share at Dewsbury, then so be it.
