Great news about David Fifita signing! Looking forward to watching him play. He will really bolster the Trinity pack.

I think hudds will already be distracted. U19s player Ronan Costello air lifted to hospital yesterday and match against Salford abandoned. I think that will be preying on the players minds.

No, no details about the type of injury sustained, or his condition. Just that it was a serious injury and he was air lifted to Leeds general infirmary.

Ronan Hit his head on the ground whilst being tackled, no foul play or blame with anyone, just a freak accident.

He was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary where he underwent surgery for his injury, he remains there in a critical condition.

I've coached against Ronan for a number of years and have been his coach at Huddersfield for the last two years. He is a strong character and a superb young man, all at Wakefield Trinity are thinking of him and my prayers and best wishes are with him and his family at this really difficult time.

Odd thing is I've been on the Cronulla forums and they don't seem to agree with you at all. Aussie fans are usually very derogatory about any player who as they see it has to resort to SL. In David's case they mostly to a fan seem to think the move away from his twin in particular will do him some good yet they are sad to see him go. Finally they have no doubts whatsoever that the potential is there.

So on reflection I'll continue to ignore your feux expertise and listen to our coach and actual Cronulla supporters - oh and most vitally give the lad a chance and see how he goes in a Trinity shirt (a pleasure you will never have I suspect) - thanks.

Lots of the Cronulla fans question why he has not been getting game time and think he is a lot better than they have had on the subs bench and if you watch some of the clips of him he can certainly motor for his size. Chester thinks he will add whats needed to the squad so that will do for me.

Even if he's as poor as you suggest, he's only here until the end of the season, with an option for next year.

At the very least, he allows us to rest a very tired squad.

fyi I live in Cronulla so I know and here a lot from the guys there.

Personally I'll give the bloke a chance to prove himself before writing him off. I'd have thought this would be an excellent chance for him to show what he can do and a great chance to get a team sorted for next year. I've only seen him a few times the past few years but he can shift for a big bloke , has a good offload and is obviously a nightmare to dominate in the tackle.

SL is totally different to the NRL so we should give the bloke a chance I think.

As for living in Cronulla - so what. Nearly all of us live in Wakefield and you'll struggle to find two sets of opinions that are the same or that matter.

I couldn't be bothered to go back more than two weeks in your posts but you gave an opinion on the quality of Finn's kicking game on Sunday and how in the month prior to the Hull KR game Johnstone had been ordinary for a month, as well as giving an opinion on Jowitt's ability under the high ball.

I stopped posting a few years ago after emigrating ( I lived in Sutherland and was a member at Cronulla for a few years before we moved down the coast to Wollongong) you and I have had our differences in the past, and, quite frankly we still would if I posted regularly. However I do not know this chap and did not come across him during my time in the shire.

Fwiw I am a big fan of Fifita... Had it not been for an infection which caused hospitalisation I think he would have had far more NRL game time.

This season he played six games for Newtown in NSW league ... Four of those were a late inclusion because he was 18th man in first grade and on two occasions he was selected in the team of the week for the league... On his first grade appearances he aquitted him self very well and it for an uncanny run of injury free games would have had more opportunity. He also played very well in the Tonga team and in the pre season games including indigenous all stars team. This is a top signing fortrinity... Enjoy !
