| Some changes needed for next week for sure. There were some performances that weren’t up to scratch last night.
Salford game we simply must turn up and claim 2 points.
As I said before the game they were always going to attack us on the edges. Danny Ward had the same style at London to ship it to the edges at every opportunity. That’s exactly what they did.
Think a few changes now need to happen: time to go big or go home. It’s no longer just 2 points etc. I get Mash keeping them calm but now the urgency needs to be pressed onto the players.
Go big or go home from the start.
I’d bring back in Franco and Croft on the edges.
Dagger at 6 with Gale.
Whitbread to 13 and Griffin to right SR. Tanginoa to left SR if he’s fit.
I’d have Bowes and Eseh back in too. Maybe give Salabio a shot.

Think Kay should be there instead of Hood, Just watched part of the game on tv and when you see the Griffin try been disallowed after about 17 minutes because Ashurst was so called of side ,it makes the game a joke even the Sky pundits could not believe it

| Less alcohol in me now and had time to reflect on the game.
Seeing comments about Kendall having a bad game, I don't think it was the worst performance I've seen from him. The disallowed tries were extremely annoying but by the book, he was correct. I was frustrated with him not doing anything about late hits on the halves and then had the cheek to turn around and give one of our lads a talking to in the second half when there was a shove on Miller.
The fat pig on the wing fluffed it massively when he dropped that ball, we'd had a really good defensive set which saw Austin kick from their 30m line. He had all the time in the world to either let it bounce or get under it, really changed the momentum for me.
Josh Griffin lived up to the hype, quality from him going forward. He might just be the difference, if we are to roll up our sleeves and get out of this hole.
Lino is getting a lot of stick, he wasn't great but you could see the effort was there. He took the line on, which is what we're told is his strong point but Gale the lack of structure and organisation from Gale left them both looking bang average. Dagger back in at stand off for me.
Fifita, Atoni, Whitbread and Kay were great. How differently would the game have gone if Lino would've taken in the Whitbread offload, all in hindsight.
Not sure where these wins are going to come from. Salford and KR are scrapping for that 6th place finish and Saints, Catalans and Leigh want that top spot. Got to hope there are some slip ups for one of them and that it doesn't go down to the last game of the season.

| Quote Schunter="Schunter"First half we were the best team except for about 5 minutes. That try chalk off was ridiculous and no way should griffin have been adjudged knock on before they score that try. I’d also say Vera was obstructed In that try in the first half but no video check. Typical. Also that second half forward pass try chalk off was a tough call. No way that’s called most weeks even if technically correct.
That said they were too clinical for us and wtf Dagger is on the bench especially if Lino isn’t even kicking, p*ss poor team selection, Dagger knocks over at least two of those and we are then right in the game and he’s been playing well no way should he be left out.
Aggggghhhhh'"
Agree.
Feel we were cheated out of one try - the one scored by Senior I’ve seen given many times!
That said no excuse, we should still have won but some players weren’t up to it. Cas played better rugby and hard as it is to say it deserved the win.

Just goes to show how negative this board currently are.
Very similar to the "you didn't ecxpect us to beat Saints did you", quote by a certain person.
The sooner these two go, that are slowly killing the club go, the better.
Someone else may just have that bit more ambition about the club.

I don't understand your logic. Would you have preferred them not to sign anyone for next season?

I would have preferred them to concentrate on this season while it was still possible to stay up ! Attitude is a major factor in situations like ours, you only had to listen to JD and see the enthusiasm from Fifita to see that. !
Applegarth while trying to keep a lid on last night came over too relaxed .....it was the one match we realistically could win and at home . Unfortunately a lot of the players came out with the same attitude and it failed miserably. Looking at Cas they had it spot on last night ...new coach, new ideas and new players giving there all....great attitude.

| Just watching the tries again from last night and our structure is truly awful.
Edens try just before half time. We number up 3 on the right against Cas 4 and our FB is in the scrum. Bonkers!

I agree with what you say, apart from it having any relevance to building a side for next year.
How much worse would the attitude have been if the players had signed elsewhere.

Which players are you referring to ? because I don't think our attitude could have been much worse. We are not even making the most of the players we have..imo . Dagger on the bench , Franco now fit , Eseh giving way to 10/15 min man Proctor ? Our lives are hanging by a thread and not enough of those on the field last night seemed particularly concerned or good enough to do anything about it . Sounds like reserves have gone well today so lets hope we see the changes next Friday.
