| I'd rather keep them and get a 5th in line prop

I agree. I think if one of those two leave it would be for the 2nd forward we are looking at. I believe we are trying to get a couple of the young lads out on loan deals to free up the bit extra needed for our primary target. Maybe the link up with Donny may be a help with that.

that was kinda my point really, I don't think you'd have turned Mason down as your 4th/5th choice prop would you?
To be fair with Huby Emmit and (assuming he can hold the ball) Millington, he won't be the first name on the team sheet in our squad either.
I'm delighted with the signing, gives us some real depth which is a real luxury for us

He's a bit expensive for a fifth choice prop!

| Mason would have been a strong signing.
He a quality British prop forward and there isnt too many of them that become available.
Think he will be a really good signing for Cas.

I think he'll be a good signing for Cas and I certainly welcome him into our squad. Imo I reckon Mason is as good as, if not better prop than Huby and Emmitt who both got found out last season.

whoa whoa whoa pedro! this is the NEW wakefield, you guys should want the depth he would priovvide in getting you into the eight again... if injuries mount up you don't want your top eight hopes resting on a front rower with no SL experience do you???
It's a good signing and would've been for wakefield... albeit like you say, a touch expensive. But it depends what you're after I guess

Depends if he stays fit, led to believe there are issues - but yes I'd of taken him though not a huge fan of his.
What this really shows is the sheer lack of depth in our game when Mason is probably the best British prop available!

| Can't say I felt like we'd missed out when I saw Mason had signed for Cas.

| I remember the last time we lost out to Cas over a prop.
Many of their posters were salivating at the thought of Korki ripping it up - in the off-season.
Mason's a decent player, but he's the biggest penalty machine around.

| I've got some reservations but think we should keep John and Mellars this season as they offer strength in depth at 6,7 and 2,3,4,5 & if a real need 11 respectively!
All we need is another hard working SL standard prop we don't need a world beater to break the bank

| It's times like these when we could do with unearthing a championship player who could make the grade, like Warrington did

We dont want a craftsman, just a hard, willing prop forward
