personally I think both Gaskill and Lineham are past their sell by date but you can't knock them for experience and past record can only put it down to that and cover for injuries we need a good solid prop and leave Battye for reserve and cover and yes the young ones do have to learn and quick

Put things into perspective at this present time with the teams I’ve watched only saints would compete n beat Wigan . Wigan are on a roll , we sent a weakened team , any other team in super league sending a scratch squad would end up the same , look at saints at Toulouse for proof , even they came unstuck

I think there’s about 6 players in the First Team Squad that aren’t up to SL standard in my opinion and possibly shouldn’t have been signed….they appear to be merely making up the numbers rather than genuinely competing for positions …..

Money saved from these signings could have led to the signing of a promising prop forward….

Truth is I’m sure WP will turn it around and we will survive.

But we need to recruit better. There has to be better in the championship than some of our recent efforts.

It’s early days for WP but we need to concentrate on finding players with guts if we can’t compete for ability.

Our two best coaches in my time were Kear and Kelly and both had a knack for finding these mongrel players. Poching needs to find that, he can clearly spot class.

Truth is that Gaskell, Lineham and Hood were not his signings but whether he would have signed them who knows.

Nest season should we survive this on will be Willies real test.
