Well I've just started biking again after a while out of it, but this annoys me also, Asdale Road is another that caters for cyclists but is frequently not used - BUT - worse than conventional cyclist IMO is the growing number of electric scooters and bikes the latter of which have obviously been modified and I would imagine are totally illegal. I saw one on Denby Dale Road, Durkar this morning with wheels on it like a Honda Goldwing! It crossed the central reservation (a good 4" kerb) with no problem and continued on the other side towards town at I would say a good 30MPH! No lights, no helmet no right to be on the road! When are these morons going to get stopped before they kill somebody?! |

Basically, as has been alluded to there are plenty of cycle lanes now but are rarely used by said cyclists.
They either use the roads or the pavements, and totally disregard the cycle lanes they desperately wanted.
Such arrogance.
Apologies to any decent cyclists, you are very few and far between!

Interestingly, I was listening to a podcast the other week with Steven E de Souza as guest and the Die Hard and Christmas film question come up, he out rightly said it was intended to be a Christmas film lol. |
