| Not great news but I do think Kaye is very underrated he knows where the try line is. He is quick and more than capable of doing a good job
Kershaw is young and still learning he will only improve with more game time.

| Good luck BJB. That try against Hudds is in my top 5.

Kaye hasn't had a chance really. Not as good as BJB but a good finisher and prolific, a more basic winger but one who can do the job.
Kershaw is an oddity, he's a bash em up winger, if he can keep his enthusiasm and work ethic he'll be a handful. On'y issue is pace, he's no slouch but he's not as speedy as BJB.

Mostly I agree. However, he’s prone to the odd stinker of a game (2 I can recall with one against Leeds pre season where he played himself out of first team selection).
He’s not got a great pair of hands and he’s dropped a fair few balls too.
I honestly don’t think he’s good enough. The only strong part of his game is the hard yards he can make after contact. He’s a young lad an he can probably improve but imo he’s a far cry from regular SL ready.
I’ll be clear though that I’m not rubbishing him and I will support a young wakey lad any day pulling on the shirt. I’ve just not been impressed.
Kaye knows how to find the try line and that’s great but when a Lyne and Kaye played together I seem to remember they had some positioning shockers in defence with opposition backs ghosting through the gaps on the right. This massively concerned me. This improved when bishop returned to partner Lynn and when Pitts was no longer in the right SR spot.
Batch, Lynn, BJB was much more defensively sound and potent than Pitts, Lynn , Kaye.
Controversial but Batchelor for me played himself to a starting shirt 2021 in Pitts absence. The right side defence and attack improved greatly with Batch there.

Agree on Batch, he is a quality player that is only going to get better and I think he is ready for SL week in week out. It is a shame his brother is just sat in the stands at Saints, another quality young player in the same mould as James, I would have him in a heart beat... I do though see value in bringing Batchelor off the bench, rotating him with Pitts.

| BJB still oozes class. Would be sad to see him leave. Think Hampshire is by far the best of the possible replacements.

Joe’s 3 years older than James so surely the younger is in the same mold as the elder?
Saying that I W have had the pleasure of seeing both of these lads playing many years as juniors, joe played in the same team as my eldest lad and I did coach James as an U10-11 with my No2 son in the same team, there is a great deal of similarity in both their games abs as kids were both able to play various positions full back, in the half’s and loose forward being their most regular positions, another major similarity is both could kick goals from all over the place and from the half way line too, something I’ve not seen Wakey or saints take advantage of

Is Kaye quick? From what I've seen of him over the past few seasons we have several players in the squad that are more likely to be able to sprint the length of the field and not get caught....
BJB is a real quality winger whose running style makes him deceptively quick...he's worth another 2 year SL contract at the right price...move Kaye onto the Championship along with Gigot...Kershaw is a good back up for BJB.

Kaye is extremely quick, not sure who you reckon could catch him, TJ and Hampshire, that’s about it.
What he hasn’t got imo is BJB’s balance which you elude too. Kaye can’t create his own tries he needs others to do that, he’s a finisher in the true sense. Nothing wrong with that, most wingers are like that, we’ve just been a bit spoilt.
If the ball gets to him with a bit of space he will score and he will rarely bomb, he’ll do fine.

| We all see different things so I'll have to disagree....
BJB is class and has scored lots of long range tries in Super League...the other has spent most of his career in the lower leagues.
If BJB is not re signed by Trinity due to the finances then I hope Kay proves me wrong and scores lots of tries and stays fit for the next two seasons as he's signed for Trinity for 2021 and 2022.....

We aren't disagreeing. BJB is without doubt the better winger, I thought I’d made that point. What I’m saying is Kaye will do a job and as such shouldn’t be underrated.
Most teams go through phases, for a few years our threat has come from the wings due to having two excepts players in that position. Now it will possibly change and be more driven by say Lino’s creativity or an aggressive pack , who knows, nothing last forever.
We were lucky to get BJB but the chances of replacing him like for like are virtually nil. So the king is possibly dead, so long live the king as they say.

| I can't see Ben retiring with the world cup next year.
Certainly more than capable for another year, hopefully we get a deal done.

| BJB would a massive loss, I hope this is not true
This season has being a nightmare for us and his return was one of the catalysts to us turning it around
He’s a brilliant all round winger, fast, excellent in the air, strong finisher, very strong under a bomb, defensively reads the game as good as anyone we’ve ever had at Wakey, I can’t think of a single mistake he’s made (not to say he hasn’t mind as that would be near impossible)
He’s also very experienced
Defo not some one that can easily be replaced

You’re right pal
There were two games this year all be it I can’t think who against where Kaye had the chance with an open line to show how fast he was but he looked v slow
Might have being sts where he was caught from behind by a back row / prop
Also Agree with everything in your last paragraph plus to add to it I’m not sure how confident he is under a bomb
All said if Kaye ends up being a starting winger for us I’ll back him like I would do any other Wakey player
