By the sounds of a previous post on a different thread, Hampshire has been offered a contract, maybe weighing up his options?
Hope one of them isn't Shudds and we end up with Brough!
MC talked earlier about re signing 4 from 6, now with the apparent signing of King, that reduces the pot further.

| Apparently Jordan Abdull wants out at Hull FC.
Could he be an option as the back up half.
Not got the organisation of Broughy, but much younger, and probably more gas left in the tank.

No. He's shockingly overweight, injury prone and from what I've seen offers hardly any creativity.

He was massively overweight. Tim Sheens seems to have sorted that last season looks like hes worked very hard on it. Probably has to keep working hard on it too. I agree though I think if you are looking for a new half you need someone who will come in and improve what you have and he wont. Be interesting to see who you guys end up with as you aren't far off challenging for the top four, and I think if you could get the extra fans in to spend to cap you would

They aren’t- they DID but he didn’t want to commit and pratted around. Woolford said right at the start he didn’t want to sign any Aussie not commuted- so he withdrew the offer and signed Holmes.

| Partly agree there Wilzay, but also agree with The pimp too..I think it is something that has been worked upon.
The way Hampshire played last night, certainly happy with him continuing to be our starting 7 into 2019, and kicking his goals well too.
Certainly think the philosophy of the half back situation is changing, may well be just a back up half that we need

| I thought that was Hampshire's best game in a Wakefield shirt so far. He seems to be growing into the role and looked sharp every time he had the ball last night.

Totally agree Lyndsey, no brainer, Broughy has been one of the best over the years but Ryan is better now and can only get better.

| Agree Hampshire had a fine game, demonstrating all the facets of half back game. Despite what I said about Broughy last night’s display by Hampshire showed me and convinced me .
Kicked brilliantly, creative with ball in hand, and showed that turn of pace which for me a real bonus as the opposing defence will never be sure if he will take them on.

| The inclusion of Hampshire, at half back, has revitalised our season. Let's hope all a deal can be sorted for next season.

| I like Hampshire and I hope he signs a long contract but we know from past experience with youngsters (and their agents)money talks.
It seems the ball is in his court!

| Might depend on how high we end up finishing in the Super 8's.
Finish 5th and that 'extra' money for contracts could be the difference?

Not sure he's better just yet.
Hampshire needs to make a choice - either carry on following the cash cow whilst never really becoming a great player - because after a while people stop believing in players who have a dozen clubs on their CV.
Or take whatever Trinity can afford and spend a few years building a genuine reputation ant one build on hype and early promise from his junior days.
If he commits to Trinity for two years and carries on developing as he has been the at 25/26 which is all he will be he can name his price. Top SL club or the NR, he'll get a 3 to 4 year deal that will make him for life and probably a place in the history books.
