| Quote: The Devil's Advocate "Wow, this thread’s going to run & run!
Looking forward to seeing the new proposals, I never wanted to move to a new development.
I just hope its fit for purpose in the 21st century, not a Glover style bodge.
There’s plenty of room on three sides, not sure about the western terrace though.'"
I'd say there's about 10m -15m from pitch edge to the external boundary of the Western Terrace. A simple, slender, steep sided, full length standing terrace should fit. Hopefully the old West Stand sets the precedence for elevation.

| We've been strung along with delay after delay, proposed opening dates going back to 2012 all the way through to 2016 and now this.
York Court got their planning permission based on the provision of Community facilities, we were told that Colin Mackey was an honourable man and would uphold his side of the deal. We'll get your hand in your pocket and build at least one major grandstand at Belle Vue almost immediately because this is beginning to look like a stitch up.

| Will post more later - we were not aware that this was going out!
We can confirm that discussions are ongoing and they very much involve Yorkcourt.
The extent of the work etc is all yet to be worked through - if indeed this is the end result.
There is a limit to what we can report of course, but IA and the others involved will try and answer where we can.
Funny old day!

| Don't know which way to think about this.
If a magic wand could be waved and Belle Vue be as good (or Better) than Widnes'
stadium, that would be great.
But, as always, we go back to square one.
I guess we have to wait and see just what the proposals are but, whatever happens, the developers at Newmarket will do very nicely, having secured a major chunk of land on the back of a stadium build application ???

No disrespect, but unless it's concrete don't bother!
Sick to the back teeth of the cloak and dagger nature of all this where some can know but others can't, it's plans for a rugby stadium for Christ's sake not MI6. false statements and lack of movement, excuse after excuse for nothing happening.
It's not a pop at you TRB but I'm fed up of it all!

Well...a suspicious man might think that tagging a community stadium proposal onto a great fat business park proposal might just have been a way of pulling the wool over everybody's eyes and getting it though planning. A suspicious man might have thought that Newmarket Stadium was never going to get built in a million years (as some may have said on here for about 4 years) and the incredible length of time involved was all part of a plan cooked up behind closed doors between several 'stakeholders' as they like to say these days. A suspicious man might think that the fans of Wakefield Trinity and the people of Wakefield have been lied to and hoodwinked, yet again. I, of course, am not a suspicious man....

I am,
If I remember correctly the original plan called for the stadium to be built first, it starts to make sense now why YCP fought so hard for the clause about building and occupying a large amount of the warehousing before even putting a spade in the ground for the stadium.
It's starting to look like they knew from the outset that they weren't going to build it at all

| The first thing I'd be saying to YCP is you sign a contract to build a substantial stand IMMEDIATELY and agree a SHORT TIMESCALE to complete the total upgrade of BV.
If you won't do that then we will hold you to the original contract and the WMDC should not allow any more building work at NM until this is agreed and signed to water tight contracts.

Too right there's plenty of room to redevelop the a Western terrace a covered terrace full length of the pitch similar to Warrington would easily fit and be a good home terrace. Regarding redeveloping Belle Vue , if done correctly and no bodge job I'm all for it suppose it's better than waiting years and years for an out of town stadium. Is Super Bowl still open ? We could corporate a new Super Bowl with new east stand. I'm getting to like the idea of redeveloping Belle Vue TRINITY FOREVER

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see us stay at BV but I want to see some construction work going on and not another set of plans and a bucketful of platitudes.

| Can see it now, plans to develope BV are in place, planning permission will have to go to the council, this could take years, but we are optimistic and urge fans to stick with us again

| Never market was never the best option, it's location could well have caused the club no end of long term problems. The development of bv ain't much better. I couldn't care less .
