Right, now is the time to stand up and be counted. The statement from Michael Carter seems frank, honest and genuine.
Selling Smith was the only option we had and so even though it's disappointing that it has had to come to that, I'd rather that than lose MY club!!

Quote: "The past should be a learning experience not an everlasting punishment. What’s done is done. Constantly going over the ordeals you previously faced will only be a burden in your life.'"

A fresh start is needed and that can only happen if WE back the Club and the new Chairman who seems to know what he is doing.
On the plus side we will start next season as everyone's prediction for relegation which is when the Wakefield Spirit shows itself and we generally go out and prove everyone wrong.

Quote: "You can’t have a better tomorrow if you’re always thinking about yesterday.'"

The Club and the Team will get my full backing starting tomorrow at Huddersfield. I hope that others feel the same.

Most people on here already spend everything they can on the club, that well is close to running dry. Its the floating fans that would have to dig deeper, the ones who weren't there before the cheap ticket offer. You really think they will all of a sudden see key players leaving, the prices going up and say on the back of a probable 7 game losing run and say 'yeah, i'll have a bit of that'?! Sorry but it just isn't going to happen. I'm lead to beleive we have sold less than half the 4K target to press and I doubt that is going to double on the back of recent events.

We will back to the same amount of people as there always is putting in the same amount of money they possibly can. And respect to everyone that does. But I for one already spend more than I should on the club over the year, i'm afraid no more funds can be directed that way. The fans spend what they can and always have but that obviously isn't enough as this keeps happening. What we have to do is find significant new investment and find it quick. The best thing we can do is ask our bosses whether they want to part own a rugby club with plenty of commercial potential and hope they say yes. Otherwise I fear the slope might just get a little too slippery.

Quote: TRB "The sticky brown stuff is back - but what we decide to do about is will have a direct effect on the outcome of this situation.

The club have clearly been handing out pound notes for fun, but that will stop / has stopped. Selling Tim Smith will go someway towards balancing the books and I am told that there will be a similar budget for playing staff next year to this. If we want better, then we must put in - and that means buying a Season Ticket - and as soon as possible!

Some of the messages I have read are suggesting that people are not up for this fight - they are tired of it! But there are others, me included, who will never give up - either because we choose not to or because we don't know how!

As one of those people - I have seen us go through this - and worse - and I expect nothing more than a fight and a strong recovery from our side and our club.

The question is - are you with us or agin us! We need everyone on board and between us we can make sure this club survives and thrives and that Captain Kirmo gets to lead us out at Newmarket!'"

Just come off the phone to my two rugby going mates and we are all up for the fight! Dare I say it but together we are stronger!!!'"

Do you understand why so many "negatives" came out last night, its not the loss of a player its the reasons behind the loss of that player.

I have bought my season tickets and i'm always up for a fight but i do that with my eyes open.

Do you guys do a membership for about 3/4/5 games????

I go to wakefield if cas are playing too far away for me to get, so it'd make sense me getting a membership really.

As far as the crisis goes, you have higher attendances now that for the last 30 years (I think) ....so I can't see a reason why it'd be the end of the club.

Selling Tim Smith isn't all that bad either, god knows he can't defend for his life

There is a "Set of Six Membership" for £100 which not surprisingly is for 6 games. However it covers 2 Category A games (Leeds, Cas, Wigan & Saints), 2 Category B games (Huddersfield, Hull, Hull KR, Bradford & Warrington) and 2 Category C games (Widnes, London, Salford & Catalans).

I wasn't going to renew my season ticket as I missed too many matches this season but what the hell. Ill order mine next week. What else is there to do on a Sunday?

It does leave you wondering. Attendances are up significantly than before. Only around half of that is discounted season ticket holders. I certainly find the price of my ticket quite substantial when buying two for the east stand.

There is commercial sponsorship all over the ground. And we are not spending the full salary cap. I appreciate that Eric France went bust but we are still well short.

Should our advertising rates by higher? I know that corporate hospitality at other clubs is a higher cost, just look at their websites.

How many more avenues of income can we explore? Or is the cash leaking out from somewhere where we should put a sock in it?

Quite simply, it's not enough; to sustain a SL club of our stature, I reckon the magic figure is 10k every week, with all the match-day revenue that goes along with it.

Aside from that, we obviously need additional (probably commercial) revenue streams to supplement our income - I guess that's why MC has specified that he needs the business community to get behind the club.

Now would probably be a good time to speak to your bosses, mates who own businesses or any organisation you have a stake in, to get them to contact Martin Hopkins and talk turkey for next season.

SEE MY POST FRUSTRATION. I take your pointb entirely but there is no way the club site would let me renew tonight. This is aggravating to say the least

My thoughts too. 8000 home attendances and we are bust. Why? We ought to be able to be solvent on that. And I want to renew and can't tonight as I say again

My opinion FWIW!

Obviously there's been mistakes and we're back in the mire where none of us want to be, it's disheartening and tests us to the core. Whatever the cause(s) human, economic, external or just plain bad luck we've just got to do what we do best, what we do better than anyone, rally behind the club and support in every way we can.

The club strap line of 'Together we are Stronger' has never rung true for me because I never believed the club and the supporters were 'Together' enough. However, where it does apply, where it's most fitting, where it has real resonance and meaning is between us THE FANS!
WE ARE THE CLUB and together we ARE stronger!
So let's get stronger and stronger!

Despite the current and hopefully short term financial issues we are in a far better place than 2 or 3 years ago.
We have a stronger more talented squad
We have attendances of over 8,000 over the last 2 seasons
The old girl, Belle Vue, new stands and all is rocking on match days with an atmosphere none can match
Our future at Newmarket is oh so close to happening

Best of all, and I can speak from first hand experience, we have some of the best young players coming through the Academy system that I have seen in many a year.
Our unbeaten U16s have some of the most sought after talent in the game, I won't name names as that wouldn't be fair but you'll see some of them soon and you won't be disappointed.
We have secured some of the best, most talented, gifted and BIG U14s (next years U15s) that West Yorkshire has to offer and if anything, with hard work, they'll go on to challenge any youth side we've ever produced and that's hard for me to say!
Club 1873 is working

Like you, Wakefield Trinity is in my blood,
stop watching??
You might as well ask me to stop breathing.

I think Ive heard just about every SL owner of clubs our size say they need at least 10k to run a half decent team and not have to put their hand in their own pockets. Add to that a good part of our attendance is made up of cheap season tickets and what would the truer attendance figure be if we were paying the same prices as Wigan for season tickets.
