the increase needs to be phased in to keep all those that were first time season ticket holders at the low price. £150 seems fair with a similar increase the year after.

Obviously any potential options for spreading payments will be welcomed by most

We (my husband and I) would be happy for the price to increase, but it would be best if this was done in conjunction with an installments progreamme, mainly because it's in the run up to Christmas when the tickets are on sale and no one has a lot of spare cash then, plus, on a personal note, I have car tax to pay around then also.

I agree with what has been said above in that it should be a staggered increase rather than a massive increase all in one go.

I work in marketing and, with my marketing hat on, it would be ideal to run a test and control i.e. different price offers to random samples of customers to see if the price increases have any significant negative effect on the response but, unfortunately, due to the nature of the business that would be pretty much impossible to do as you could guarantee that people would see many different prices and outrage would ensue as to why there's different prices brackets and so on. The only way for this to happen would be to have all the season ticket information sent out by post with different mailshots, and it would mean that none of the pricing information could be on the website, so really not practical for the business to do.

Quote: Wakefield No 1 "I agree, you cant go from £100 to £125 to £190 or £200+ ! also we as a family with one wage coming in,buy two season tickets so this year that was £250 and if one season ticket was £200 that would be £400! and we wouldnt be buying any in that case....'"

This is key for me. Whilst individual tickets can be £160 - £200, I think we need to consider carefully the impact of couples and families. We should keep the overall rise to families as low as possible, so that perhaps these offer the greatest benefit and perhaps have a 'couples' ticket somewhere in between.

Someone on FB has suggested the price as being £187.30, which seemed a nice number, but perhaps a bit high for next season!

I like the idea of a monthly DD, however I think it is hard to introduce. At what point in the season do you start paying for next year? Surely the club need to know that members have paid for their season ticket in advance of the season starting otherwise what's to stop people setting it up then cancelling once issued with their ticket?

Pricewise I'd agree that as a ST holder you need to get some financial benefit (or free games) as people can not always make every game. the equivalent of £15 a game seems reasonable, it allows you to miss 3 games and still be in no worse position than if you had paid the walk up price for each game you attended.

Based on that being £195 for games, then a £20/month DD which includes a shirt and maybe a couple of other things would seem reasonable.

Maybe if you made it £15/month for 2014, starting fairly soon you could get 10 months worth of payments in before next season to make ST's £150 next year, then increase to the above for the following year (giving you a full 12 months to collect monies for 2015)

I don't think it has to be that difficult. If you start paying in Sept then you would have paid 6 months by the time the season starts. Why not issue a half season ticket and then allow a second half season ticket mid season - subject to having kept up the payments?

The difficulty is in the loss of cash to the club in the autumn - they may get more overall, but cash is king!

When in Newmarket and if we have card self serve swipe style turnstiles which most grounds have now you could pay monthly even over 12 months and if you stopped paying your dd your card becomes inactive. Obviously unworkable at belle Vue but a good idea for Newmarket.

For the first season in NM publicise a special offer to anyone who's held a season ticket for, say, two years for a ST at a 10% reduction plus a special edition history of Trinity to include a DVD of momentous events. Start publicising this NOW to encourage ST take-up. Make collecting these a special event, at NM, with ST's and books being handed over by players past and present - INVITE JD !!

Why not sell season tickets in two parts with the first dds starting well before the season, Part one season ticket could be sold at a premium, with the second half of the season sold at a good discounted price. You would have to have a part one season ticket to get the part 2 at the discount. If the club had a good start to the season part 2 only tickets would be sold at a slightly discounted price.
Season ticket holders could be entered in to a draw for club shirts etc.
Also buy 2 match day tickets for 50 quid get one free , that would be a saving of 16 quid over the 3 games on todays entry, but would give the club the money up front.
A buy on the day ticket at 22 quid seems fair, it could be increased a little but not much, say 24 quid max

The club must know by now how much money it takes on pay on the day tickets, that figure would be interesting to know.
I was a season ticket holder for years, my dad used to have a vice presidents ticket. I now work away from home so have only seen 3 home games so far this season.
Could it be possible to have an open day game against Catalan or Salford, inviting new support , or possibly when on Sky.
One things for sure the cost of season tickets at todays prices can not continue, and i dont think supporters should expect it to do so.
I have been a fan for donkeys and i see the club making great steps regarding admin. To take the club foreward buy better players and offer better contracts a price hike will be needed. Its good for the fans to be consulted.

I think the club have got the ST thing about right, apart from the very low starting point and there are still plenty of us paying into the 1873 scheme as well.

There needs to be increments of around £25 to get us back to the true value of a ST until we are back around the £175-200 mark and maybe some kind of discount/ incentive for being a ST holder and an !*&£ member ?

A little while ago there was some marketing stuff about ticket prices at the new stadium and IMO, these cant be any different to BV, as our walk up admission prices are pretty much in line with other clubs.

Yes, there will be better facilities but, if there is a mix of terracing and seating then the terracing should be similar to BV with a small premium for seating.

Everyone wants a good deal and right now, its probably more important to build momentum, prior to the new ground being ready and to get as many fans coming to games as possible.

If the club were to move prices to the "full price" of £250, there is a major risk that supporters would disappear and we need numbers to keep growing.

Personally,I think the instalments thing is excellent and this must help the club in the close season with regular income etc.

I believe the the price of the ticket can only be determined by the quality of the product, but understand that if you pay peanuts you get monkeys... I honestly think it's too early on in the season to say.

I do however think it's a rip off on the gate.

I agree with the half or even a 1/3 ticket and starting to pay as early as tickets are available now I.e August. collect the next bit once payments are recieved in full for that part.
I do wonder how people expect to keep the prices so low. we've paid at top 225 for a seated ticket, anything up to that would be acceptable to me, 125 this year was silly. cant make money at that price

If our league position dosn't improve or even gets worse by the end of the season I would suggest they are over valued.

If you look at it this way IF 5000 ST holders rener at £25 more and that is directly fed into squad building - that equates to a £125k salary spend.
Some will call for a top earner others more spaces in the cap for local youngsters.
A £50 increase will achive both, will only take the ST up to £175 (a little over £13 a game) and will help is move the squad and the club on.
On a monthly DD it would be less than £15 per ST holder spread over the year.
Add on any other benefits/increased benefits that the club can chuck our way and I still see it as extremely good value for money.
I completely agree that some may find it difficult, but that is only due to the present ST price when put up against £22 a game or £286 per season on the gate, I think it holds up.
Also until we are back to paying full whack we are effectively losing ground on our competitors, the longer it takes the further we get left behind (cash wise) and the steeper the gradient of our chase.

As a shift worker and single parent on a tight budget I havent bought a season ticket for this year, partly because I cant afford the outlay, even though the early bird offer is payable over 3 months, but also I can only make it to 6 or 7 of the games in any case.

If the club were to offer a half season ticket of the games of my choice plus a DD scheme over 6 months or more then it would be perfect for me but I cannot expect or hope they will do so because of the administrative nightmare it would probably cause.
