Quote: Lupset_Airport "On the topic of parking I used to park on the retail park by the cinema but they are clamping down (fines) on folk parking up and walking into town etc. I'm not sure if they are policing it sunday but I was stung for £60 at Valley Parade once at the nearby retail park.'"
Something to note - the fines you get from a private parking company, such as the one that manages the retail park and cineworld car parks, are totally unenforceable and have no more validity than if I walked up to you in the street and handed you an invoice for £60.
Park there for as long as you like and when they send you a PCN (parking charge notice, so-called because it sounds a bit like the more official 'penalty charge notice' and has the same scary acronym; also, produced deliberately to look like a police PCN, with checkerboard pattern on top etc, for maximum intimidation effect) chuck it in the bin; they'll send you a few more, which you should also chuck in the bin. I absolutely, positively guarantee you that you won't hear from them beyond a few snotty letters.
Enjoy!
