as far as i know we have this rule in rugby league and due to this mr richardson has said he would step aside when the offer comes in.... but the offer needs to come in first. how many people do you know who have the money to run a club... besides NGB4C? |

To be fair TRB, we should be going for it or getting out. The new stadium is one part of the equation, and I have got everything crossed, but we need to be pushing the investment towards the salary cap or giving up. The group of players selected this year have not been in the recent Wakefield Trinity mode, and JK has as much admitted that today. As a minimum, we at Wakefield have always been proud of the effort put in by the players, regardless of the result, but we have not been able to do that this season.
ps. As Beans is leaving, does this leave a vacancy for a Wakefield favourite (JD?)

I think the BoD realise this, hence the request for outside help. We need additional funding to help us raise standards, increase attendances (in part with the stadium) and increase revenue. This year has been a disaster - with players leaving, poor performances, falling attendences and reduced revenues. All this leads to pressure in the financial system which hampers the development of the business. Outside investment is required, but the rewards for someone coming in at this time - always assuming that NM comes along - could be massive, and we need to sell that idea to anyone and everyone!  |

No no no. Lets get out of this way of thinking. I think Jason Demetriou is one top bloke and he has my utmost respect for the effort and commitment he has put in for Wakefield Trinity, but where are his coaching credentials?
If JD comes back in two or three years having spent some time as an assistant coach learning his trade then I would welcome him back with open arms, but professional sport is a harsh environment and being a 'good bloke' is not neccessarily a qualificaion for the job.
Where I think a bloke like JD would be useful right now is in a mentoring/welfare role for the young kids. Talking to them about living right, eating right, taking the right attitude towards training and general all round attitude as a professional rugby league player. "[ips.
