The shareholders did question it and I did after the meeting with Ted and all we were told was that he no longer felt that the investment fitted with his portfolio/plans. The BoD seem as puzzled as anyone.
The Board may know what was said and dare not say or they don't know but quite frankly I'm getting past caring any more. |

Of course they are. You can add Fax to that list unless Cas really impress. They may just get the chance if the applications are decided before Wakey MDC has to re-allocate the land loans (in which case, Cas would probably get both, as we'd no longer be a SL club).
Add Widnes and Fax to SL and you get another 4 derbies. Demote wakey and Cas to the Championship and you get another 4 derbies. Plus, you get those Championship clubs in the Wakey area contributing young talent to Leeds, Bradford, and particularly Huddersfield, who seem incapable of creating their own. |

One of the investors after spending weeks on due dilligence pulled out but was later found to be a former bankrupt Director who was unable to hod office in any event.
The over investor was a multi-millionaire (worth £150m I seem to recall). He examined the books and the Clubs debts did not frighten him off, indeed the debt was "small potatoes" to him. He was keen to take over and the Club requested that the RFL see him so as to see the calibre of investor who was looking to take over the Club. Initially the RFL refused to meet him stating that the process had already started - what process, franchise applications are not to be submitted until March unless they were referring to the process with NL Clubs applications.
They were however persuaded to meet with the Investor and following the meeting with the RFL/SL he said that the investment no longer fitted in with his current portfolio/plans.
This is what I find particularly worrying. He was keen (having seen the books) until he met with the RFL/SL. What did they say to him that made him change his mind ? Did they say anything about who would be getting franchises in 2012 ? Did they say anything at all ? Did he just change his mind ? Who knows ?
If I've got this wrong then please put me straight.'"
I find it very very hard to believe that the RFL would give the cold shoulder to someone like this. It's quite clear that the future direction the game is going towards sugar Daddies and expansion clubs. I would think the problem was close to home, probably Ted's conditions, surely he is not going to miss an opportunity to the milk one last pay day out of someone like this.  |

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't, we can only go on what we were told. If he is trying to milk one last pay day (and I personally doubt it) its going to possibly see the end of the Club - not just at SL.
I think there is more to it than meets the eye but having said that I do like conspiracy theories. |

You probably have an investment in a debt free Championship Club and thats fine if you're happy with that. If we accept a drop into the Championship then Administration is the way to go. If you wish to stay in Super League then you fight - it still may be a waste of time after but you have to decide if its worth fighting for.
You pays your money (or not) and makes your choice. |

Can I offer some advice... forget Newmarket, it just aint going to happen and will be a pipe dream for us all. If you want to continue searching deep down for any glimpse that it may happen then I'll get you two tickets to Guineas day in May so you can get to the see the delights of the real Newmarket. |

I will admit Im only guessing here, but have you considered that if you go into administration the club may lose any money still owed to it on Belle vue as this will be the clubs only asset, meaning you would be homeless and asset less. |
