it is not too easy to predict who will go well when signing from nrl... the two competitions are so very different... as for a comparison... Hickey is many times the player that Leano is... a different player to Tronc... more in the Darren Fritz mould.

he was given a big money contract at the doggies but in a big strong pack... doing well in the NRL he couldnt break the incumbents... dogs this year have rung the changes...bringing in more big money signings from penrith, melbourne and cronulla.. hickey was... to the suprise of many... on the outer.

he will go well with our good young forwards...

Just heard the news re Hickey - good signing. Big strong lad, fingers crossed he will go well.

We just need a quality 7 with a kicking game now and we're not that far away IMHO.

If we have signed Moore then that will mean Lee can go back to hooker where he`s a much better player.

Was discussing this yesterday, would definitely prefer Lee at hooker.

Rinaldi starting hooker with Lee off the bench would be good to see, even though Wildie has done well there this season.

This is the same pack that's basically won us most of our games! So you expected Crusaders just to roll over on their own turf then. Most times in RL one team plays better than the other on the day, that doesn't mean it will always be that way - but someone has to win. Get over it, one defeat does not devalue the things achieved by our pack in the season so far. When the Crusties visit BV it may well go the other way, with or without Hickey.

I don't think thats too bad looking at the squad and taking into account all the problems, yes in an ideal world we would want/expect more but with what we have its no mean feat.

I can't agree that we should expect to win any game, sorry but no one has that right.

We do need extra "grunt" there is no doubt.

Yes they have done us proud so why not just accept the defeat. How insulting do you think it is to those players. Hickey has not played for us, in fact he hasn't really played in 6 month yet somehow he's going to save the day. It's this kind of over expectation of Aussie players that causes problem. You know the kind of thing, if he's that good let him do all the work, why should I bother. I'm not saying these lads would do that but they don't need it rubbing in there faces - it is after all a team sport.

As for a half back, one game ago Lee had finally made it and Wildie was the future and Smith was finally doing it in the reserves - a week on and with a defeat and a bit of hindsight and it's all changed. Of course nobody will now admit to saying the above.

We are building a team, Hickey will play his part and if an available H/B comes along who fit's the bill he will get his chance. Until then we work with what we have and due to the circumstances at the start of the season we started with very little that turned out to be more than we thought but there is a limit to what we can achieve in a season.

I'm warming to Mr Glover and I've always like Kear but they have not got magic wand.

Sorry if I annoy you, I'm good at that but that's how it is IMHO.
