| Delighted for him, but even more delighted with the statement elsewhere by Daddycool that he is staying. I missed the castleford game and with all the talk of players going after 40ish years of a season ticket had decided not to renew.
I know we have to sell and the likes of olli, cockayne, smith whilst good servants are all replaceable over time. But when there was all this talk of amor and kirmond going I decided enough was enough. At end of day I know the books have to be balanced but if we were never going to hang on to any of our players what is the point.
But if we are keeping the likes of kirmond, ali, collis smith poore then at least we have a nucleus of quality players - so i ll be down to get my three season tickets again on monday, so well done daddy cool

| Quote: Khlav Kalash "Yep richly deserved. As all ready mentioned hes played on one leg for the last 10 games or so and heavily marked but still an inspiration to his team mates. I hope he's still at the club next season. He's made from the same stuff as Demetriou, leading by example.'"
I've always thought he and JD shared similar traits.
Well done Danny you've earned it.

| Real testament for a player in a team not in the top 8 to get into the Dream Team and well deserved. Good honest hardworking second row with also that bit of something going forward that causes defences all kinds of trouble.
In relation to a place in the International set up, I think he must be in line for a call up, but I doubt he will get a place in the first choice 17. Our pack is very strong especially when you consider the fact that 3 of the Burgess boys can play in the back row, Heighington will probably get a call also and I would say if fit Ellis will get a shirt, it's a very competitive position.
No question he has been on fire this year though and it is very well deserved.

| Is Heighington or whatever, actually any good? Haven't seen anything of him. Is he any better than the likes of Farrell, Kirmond and the burgess brothers? Or does he get picked just because he plays in the NRL?

Me too, but I think we'll have to be disappointed about at least one of them.

When I've watched him in the NRL, he hasn't stood out.

He does ok but won't exactly worry the opposition, a bit like Jack Reed

The Burgess boys are ripping it up in the NRL, apart from Luke. Heighington is a player that does not always stand out but he is the kind of player that does the small things right. He is the solid reliable backrow forward who will be near too of the tackle count and hit ups week in week out.
When I speak to people about International Call Up's (not necessarily on here) there seems to be a bit if a stigma about NRL players and are they really that much better. Sadly the answer is yes, the standard of competition has never been wider in my opinion and getting a regular start in the NRL must put you in contention for an England shirt due to the standard and intensity you play at week in week out.
The Bugress boys (all 4)
Heighington
Reed
Widdop
Graham
Scott Moore is the only lad who is probably not worth a place in the squad but he struggles at Queensland Cowboys in a team who have used 5 or 6 hookers this year due to lacking any quality in that position.
All for me should be walk ins to the squad with probably all except Luke Burgess a great chance of a place in the 17 although I would concede Heighton would be borderline.
I actually think Kirmond has the kind of game that would see him get a game in the NRL, hard working 100% attitude but sadly for all British based Super League players, the standard if competition we play at week in week out does not help in my opinion when it comes to International like for like selection against a player in the NRL.
