I think the word "cannot" is a bit of a clue that I do not believe it but I just expanded on my argument giving reasons why I did not believe it even with the likes of Woods and Rimmer in charge.

We are kidding ourselves if we think that our players are coming from the world cup any good ones will undoubtedly be on the books of other clubs the squads have been known for awhile and the homework must have been done before a kick is taken which I believe other clubs have done ie hull. K R.
getting players is a very competitive market and with our well publicised problems ... and with no budget ..or uncertainty on what that is am afraid ...

just logic not meaning to put a damper on peoples aspirations think that has already been done

MNot all all them are necessarily at top clubs. Some players may not have played NRL or enough games there but be playing in the W Cup. They therefore can get work permits just on the basis they have played in RLWC rather than satisfying the 30 + ( ?) number of first grade games in NRL

Liked the look of some of the Samoan and Fijian forwards so far who look very powerful but as said already looks like we've to lose more before we get any in on cheaper deals....

We had agreed deals with Addy and Fakir who both turned down offers from other clubs believing they were already sorted out with their new club. A few weeks of not receiving returned phone calls, emails etc and then the uncomfortable truth that we couldn't honour the terms of the agreements meant that both players had to scramble around for a contract elsewhere.

They're both sorted now but are probably on reduced terms as a result of being put in such a weak position by WT.

Had we actually signed the contracts they would no doubt have been given the same opt out decision which was offered to Chris Tuson.

I imagine thats done wonders for our reputation with players around the leagues. It's going to be tough to get anyone to sign up if there is more than one offer on the table.

Kane Bentley could be a good realistic target. Gives his all very physical and leads the team well round the park at 9, could also play in the back row. Like for like replacement potentially for Aiton.

Thought this guy looked very good indeed he didn't take a backward step tonight and made hard yards everytime. He was a Proctor figure who plays for Melbourne. This guy is a ideal replacement for Kyle Amor. He plays in Elite Pro championship I am sure this guy wouldn't break the bank. This is 1 of the excellent things about the World Cup unearthing bargains

Quote: The Dreadnought "The USA no. 8 played well today, Mark Offerdahl only 26 too.'"

He seems to run hard and played at a lower level in France (16 1/2 stone and 6 foot has some size and strength)..so may come cheaply? USA look pretty good so far.

www.frenchfooty.com.au/offerdahl ... r-success/

6’ 220lbs Offerdahl is also a personal trainer and is focused on maintaining his fitness and endurance and continually works on his skills set in order to stay on top of his game. “That’s the main thing in rugby league these days. Fitness, talent and ball skills,” continued Offerdahl. “You can be big and strong and fit, I’ve seen a million of them, but they can’t play football to save themselves. “The whole strength and speed thing is just an added bonus; it can only get you so far. You’ve got to have that talent, that fitness, that drive, that mongrel about you I guess. That’s the difference.” Those qualities are what brought him to this point and he hopes that they, along with continued good form, will take him all the way into the US national team. Aside from his goal of representing the USA in the RLWCQ, Offerdahl will further his playing career in France signing a contract with Carcassonne in the French Elite 1 league - See more at: www.amnrl.com/news/team-tomahawk ...
